What clutch performances by Barkley and Majerle. This game has me all fired up, again!

- Barkley, 43 points, 15 rebounds, 10 assists
- Majerle, 8-10 3 pt. range, 34 points.
- Shawn Kemp could fly.
- Ref Joey Crawford had hair.
- Dick Enberg gave 3 "oh my's" to Majerle's clutch 3 with 20 left.
- Magic Johnson was, well, Magic Johnson-like at the mike.
- The crowd was revved.

I can't believe that was 10 years ago. What were you doing back then??

I was probably doing something I shouldn't have been. That was the end of my senior year in high school, and my mother swears that part of my life is responsible for the majority of the gray hairs on her head. :)

I know that over the years there has been a lot of talk, especially from George Karl, about how that was the poorest officiated game in NBA history. Did you notice an overwhelming favoritism from the referees towards the Phoenix Suns?

Freaking Cox cable doesn't include ESPN classic as part of their regular package anymore. It's ridiculous that I pay over $55 a month for digital cable and I don't get ESPN classic.

Calls were made both ways, but I don't see how it leaned heavily in favor of PHX.

Seattle played such a helter skelter defense during those days, so it may have been hard for the refs to adapt to.

All I know is that PHX was the aggressor most of the game. Seattle tightened up their D late, but PHX held on... thanks to the huge 3 from Thunder.

Typical Karl move to blame something other than himself.

Yeah, Game 5 was fairly evenly called. We were just on fire. Barkley's tip slam on the Majerle miss 3 was sensationsal.

And Majerle's 3 from 30 feet out!

"My Oh My Oh My Oh MY!!!! Dan Majerle!"

Game 7 was the one which was lopsided and the one Karl complained about, and probably rightly so. We had something like 66 freethrow attempts to 30 something of there's. That is pretty staggerring.

That was stupid of me. I was referring to Game 7. I've read right past "Game 5" in the subject line of the thread.

I knew the free-throw attempts were incredibly lopsided in that Game 7. I've just always wanted to see it again to see whether the officiating was really that lopsided. I mean we've all seen games where one team just fouled the other a whole lot more.
