If he is cut it is more about the performance of Hall and Skelton. Neither will make it to the practice squad, so both will stay on the roster. No way we keep 4 QBs, and one has basically a one year deal and the other, a two year deal. Unless Matty vastly outperforms Anderson, he will a victim of his rookie contract and two young promising QBs.

Clearly you are not a Cardinal's fan. Whisenhunt is the best thing to happen to this franchise in 30 years. If he decided to release Fitz I'd still give him the benefit of the doubt.

As would his players. Didn't Somers mention how strange it was not a single player spoke publicly for Leinart, including Twitter fanatics Fitz and Dockett? I don't think this is a reflection on teammate's trust as the national media does, but I think it shows how much the players trust that if Whiz is doing this, it is what he believes is best for the team.

Tim Hasslebeck is a hack who couldn't make it in the NFL and he very likely has negative feelings for the Cards and Leinart. Why does anyone put any credence in to what he says?

Wow, this is horribly misleading. All they said was there is a report out there (aka Lombardi's article) that said he COULD be cut. That lead to the discussion with Hasselbeck where he said he thinks it would be a mistake to cut Leinart. You really need to listen to what is said.

You know really I'm shocked. I took this as the gospel of the lord upon seeing it quoted in the 2nd post.

I never believed that Anderson would start ahead of Matt in the 3rd preseason game....... so this report scares me.

DUDE! The interview started with their are rumblings around the headquarters that Leinart may not make the FINAL cuts even....IF this was the same story from 14 days ago...why ask it again????

We will see...My guess and I bet you anything...Leinart wants to know if he is starting or not...because if he doesn't he doesnt want to stay here...so WHiz will let him get a chance to attach to another team.

But why ask Timm Hassleback the same exact question as yesterday unless the story is moving forward???

I dont hate Leinart at all...in fact I would be 50/50 on him starting over DA....I havent decided...I just always said Warner was the better QB and couldnt believe 60% of the people argued it and then Warner takes us to the SuperBowl... I can repeat all my posts if you like....Warner was by far the best option..and yet many here never saw it till we were sitting on Feb 3rd against the Steelers.

Or how about the player's don't think Matt is going anywhere. Thus, there is nothing to tweet.

P.S. If Somer's has a question about this, he can ask player's to comment. Whether they comment or not, he has a story.

Whiz has gave me no reason to think otherwise?

Mike Lombardi and other GMs are foaming at the mouth in anticipation. If it happens Matt starts this year in the NFL. Maybe in Dallas, Chicago! Philly or Washington if not Seattle or San Francisco or St louis!

He aint scared of no qB comp, anywhere after KW.

Dude, put down the crack pipe. I want Matt to start Game 1, but no way would he start ahead of Romo, McNabb or Hasselbeck and probably wouldn't be put ahead of Cutler, Kolb or Bradford either, for various reasons.

I work at ESPN and called up the room record and listened to the entire interview. He said there is a report Leinart could be cut. That is word for word. You are just hearing what you want to hear.

You ask the question because not everyone can watch every single second of television. That is why stories are talked about on all the networks at different times. Football was played yesterday which means there are highlights to be shown which leads to talk about football. It really isn't that hard to figure out why they are talking about it.

Well...Do you want to make a little bet...I say Leinart is cut by this Friday if Whiz announces DA as the starter. But his Presser after the game and all the reports lead to this happening.

Whiz even made an excuse for him naming DA the starter. HE said....This isn't ALL ABOUT STATS! SO he even shot down what Leinart and his supporters have been screaming...Whiz basically said I am not suing stats to make my decision.

I dont think Anderson is the answer...but I can read what Whiz is saying.

I think the Cardinals will Shock the World this year. At this point nothing would surprise me, not even going to Dallas to root for our team in the Super Bowl.

I heard nothing like that "rumblings around the headquarters" comment.

Jonathan Coachman said: There is a quarterback battle in Arizona, or is there? Will Leinart even be a Cardinal?

Steve Weissman then said: Now there's a report that says the Cardinals could release Matt Leinart before the final cuts. Why would Coach Whisenhunt make that move?

Tim H. responded: I think Ken Whisenhunt, (garbled)it looks like anyway, he's made up his mind about Matt Leinhart.

I think Matt gets cut but it's still misleading to suggest that ESPN is now reporting it will happen.

you sure it wasn't a replay of yesterday's interview? ESPN radio does that a lot on Sundays with interviews from Saturday night.

The Bolded comment is new! They have said he might be cut...but now it is before FInal Cuts...meaning it could happen this week.

Which is NEW information and I did hear that this was heard from the Cardinal Headquarters. It was live too..so it sounded like NEW info.

If it does happen, it is all about money. I am sure another team would take him at a much discounted rate, he may even start for someone.[/QUOTE

If it happens it is about who gives us the best chance of winning. Of course money enters into everything. Leinart is due to make 11 mil next year. If there is basically little difference between him and Anderson it would not surprise me. To many people around football everywhere have to many bad things to say about Leinart for their not to be some truth about his problems. Still it would be a surprise to me.

This whole circus is getting depressingly silly and ridiculous.

This crap is reeks of the Old Cardinals and I have been firmly in thecamp that believes the franchise turned the corner.

What a freaking fiasco.
