Not giving us any love. The state of Arizona is the only one giving us a shot at returning us to the Super Bowl...... http://sports.espn.go.com/chat/sportsnation/poll/index?pCat=46&sCat=478
Not much of a selection on the pole question, either return to the superbowl or return to basement of nfc west. It is not an easy task to make it to the superbowl so I can see why around only 30% of the nation selected us making it back to the big game. Heck in Arizona it was only 54% that think the Cards make it back.
No way that this pole had a chance of getting a positive result.
The Cardinals under the Cowboys and the Bears??? That's garbage! Neither team will make the playoffs this year.Of course, neither scenario is "likely", but since the question is "which is more likely" it can be answered. If all things were equal there would be a 1 in 4 chance that the Cards finish last in the West and a 1 in 16 chance they make it to the Super Bowl. When I look at all of the Divisions, there are very few teams I would say are more likely to go to the Super Bowl than finish last in their Divisions. What you need is a weak Division, or a least a really weak team or two. Look at the odds that Vegas gives: http://www.vegasinsider.com/nfl/odds/futures/ and check the Divisions with teams having an over-under for wins of 6.5 or less and the teams in those Divisions with an over-under for wins at 9.5 or greater. The teams left are Pittsburgh, Baltimore, San Diego and The Arizona Cardinals. These are the only four teams I would say are more likely to go to the Super Bowl than finish last in their Divisions.
Of course most ESPN Poll Voters aren't as bored as I am this time of year or spend this much time on something trivial!

It wasn't at the messanger. It was at the people.Don't throw rocks at the messenger.
If it makes you feel better you can see that the over/under for wins is 9.5 for both the Cards and Cowboys and the Bears are at 9. All the other odds mean is that more people lay money on Dallas and Chicago, it doesn't make them smart. AZ has a lot fewer people than TX or IL.
Chicago and Dallas both play in Divisions which figure to be more competitive than the NFC West, top to bottom.
