Any predictions where the 'experts' will rank us this week in the ESPN power ranking poll?

We probably drop four or five spots, since their so-called "experts" probably stopped watching the Vikings-Cards game after the first Vikings' TD.

What will be interesting in several polls is how we rank against the Cowboys after there loss and our win over the Vikings.

I say ESPN will have us at 6th with the Vikings still ahead of us.

10-2 vs 8-4. They should be ranked ahead of us.

IIRC, power rankings are a snap shot of who these guys feel are the top teams at that moment. With that being said, the Cards should be ranked ahead of the Vikings, not just b/c of the win, but also due to how they've been playing recently, lack of key injuries, & how they seem to be clicking at the right time.

The Vikes just lost their leader on defense for the year & have other injury problems. Historically, Favre is due for a late season melt down which I think began w/ the Cards game, & they've been having problems getting AP off, which will only excerbate the Favre late season swoon.

If the 2 teams that are feared the most right now are the Chargers & Cards, then they should be among the highest ranked. I don't know that too many are fearing the Vikings right now after the afore mentioned. For that matter, the Saints aren't exactly a jugernaut right now despite their record. A made chip shot FG on Sunday, & the headlines would be wondering what has happened to the Saints.

We should be 6th IMO.

These would be my top 10 rankings
1. Indy 12-0
2. NO 12-0
3. Minn 10-2
4. SD 9-3
5. Cincy 9-3
6. AZ 8-4
7. NE 7-5
8. Phi 8-4
9. GB 8-4
10. Dal 8-4

I still think New England is better than anyone in the NFC East and I still dont buy that the Broncos/Packers are an actually threat in the playoffs.

Wow Mike Freeman says Cards second best in conference.

LINK

The Saints are the best in the conference and Super Bowl runner-up Arizona is second, but after that it's a giant puzzle. Philadelphia is a mystery, the Dallas Cowboys are due for their usual stinky December and Brett Favre in Minnesota seems ready to revert from Vikings Favre to Jets Favre.

IMO I think the media is being harsh on the Vikings. They are 10-2 and have had an amazing season thus far. I acknowledge that they have had it somewhat easy, but you can only play the schedule that is given and it is still the team's responsibility to take care of business and they have. Further, their two losses came to the two SB XLIII participants. Nothing to be ashamed of. They are still a force to be reckoned with and if we do happen to encounter them in the post season, I don't expect a cakewalk.

Vikings are incredibly overrated this year. The only team they've beaten with a winning record is the Packers.

Combined Power Rankings http://www.realclearsports.com/power_rankings/2009/NFL/12_8_2009.html

1. Saints 1.14
2. Colts 1.71
3. Minny 3.57
4. Chargers 4.00
5. Bengals 4.71
6. Cardinals 6.00
7. Eagles / Green Bay (Tie) 7.86
9. Broncos 8.86
10. Cowboys 10.00

FWIW

Cards were ranked:

CBS - 8
ESPN - 6
Fox - 6
NFL - 6
PFT - 5
SI - Not yet reported.
USA Today - 5
Y! - 6

So, other than CBS, everyone pretty much agrees we should be in the 5-6 slot.

Is everything
Interesting...... the Saints, Bengals and Cardinals all in the top 6. The perennial doormats of the league have risen (except Detroit of course).
