Germany seems to have a clear path to the cup.
Hmm, not sure about that. Although I do see Germany v Spain final (which will be close) Turkey isn't a gimme.

I hope the final does work out the way I think as they are my two fav teams (along with Holland) in this tournament.

Turkey will be missing half of their starting lineup, possibly including their top scorer in Nihat. Turkey is toast.

As I said, I think Germany will win, even win by a couple but I don't think you can count it as a walkover. Too many times that happened to Greece last time. Plus, it certainly won't be an easy win against Spain.

An understrength Turkish squad outplayed the Germans for long stretches of the game but failed to get the result they deserved. I hope the Germans lose to whoever they are matched up with in the final.

TV coverage was crap..not ESPN's fault because even the Int'l feed I had online went out at the same time. I wonder if it went down in Turkey & Germany too? I bet that caused some riots.

Didn't somebody mention something about toast? Turkey played great attacking football and it was a fantastic game to watch.

Was a shame about the reception going because of the storms. I would think it was for every country watching.

Every country except for Switzerland and Germany. The Swiss had local broadcast, and the German national TV was able to get it.

Germany didnt play really well but took advantage of the Turkish mistakes, this is their stlye. The German defense is suspect though, the second goal they allowed yesterday was ridicuolus, and it wasnt the first huge mistake they made on defense in this tournament.

My early impression of Spain being the tournament's strongest team is looking pretty good right now. Their depth is really showing with Fabregas contributing to 2 goals and Guiza scoring one quickly off the bench.

I hope they crush the Germans this weekend.

So add Spain to the list of teams that the US might face in the Confederations Cup next year. That's going to be a tough tournament.

Spain was better but the ref did the rest by not sending Silva off after his headbutt and then stopping the attack at the end which had a very high chance to be germany's equalizer for a foul that was really nothing.
