With all due respect, what do you expect? If the Suns view Amare as damaged goods and are set on moving him, they are not going to get what you perceive to be market value. They will cut their losses and move on.

Not piling on, JMHO.

Let's show them again how podunk Phoenix is. Lebron for Amare, straight up. That's fair.

Otherwise they'll continue to think it.

The perception thing is b.s., unless we screw ourselves over and pull the trigger.

But again, then it would be our own fault.

Like when they said (and I said they would say), trade Marion.......ok.....now....'why in the hell would they trade Marion'.

They'll do the same for Amare.

There is no equal value for Amare sans about 5 people in the NBA, maybe less.

Yes $arver if you don't get one of those 5, you'll have to have a package deal combined to equal Amare, and 99 percent of those won't combine for equal value (since it's in pieces it's SUPPOSED to be greater value, not equal value), then you ARE just trading Amare, to trade Amare

Sarver's actions is what may undermine is potential or cause team to worry, thereby pausing before they make a decision

I'm thinking Sarver is losing faith in Kerr thus his more active involvement. I'm not saying it is good, but if I were the owner and Kerr was my GM, I'd be sticking my nose in there too.

Too bad you aren't, because many posters on this board know a HELL of lot more about basketball than Sarver. We wouldn't be in this mess then :D

I definitely have been a Sarver critic starting back when he didn't extend Joe Johnson. However, since he has admitted this mistake, it just briefly gives me a glimmer of hope. Then I think about Sarver letting BC go and hiring Kerr, then I shudder again. The only hope for Sarver is that he is actually learning as time goes by and believe Kerr/ Griffin have been responsible for a lot of the blunders.

those 2 mistakes were killers for this franchise.plus the giving away of KT and 2 draft picks

Dude your delusional. Amare is a top 10 NBA player maybe from an offensive perspective but he is not a Top 5 NBA player overall like your suggesting. That's a joke. When Amare actually starts playing defense and rebounding then you can say top 10 NBA Player (he will never be top 5). Until then....it's not even a discussion.

I would trade Amare, Nash and a bag of chips to get LeBron and I bet we still get the best out of that trade.

PS. I agree with the original poster. Almost every deal I have seen has been CRAP. Though I am all for trading Amare, I don't want to trade him for crap. If you can't get a defensive minded, rebounding PF out of the deal or a starting PG (for the future), there is ZERO reason to trade Amare. I would rather hold on to him.

How the hell is Amare damaged goods? That's so silly..

Players that get microfracture usually need it again on the same knee or on the other knee. You should know that slin because we all became unwilling microfracture specialists after seeing this done to our players. We know whats involved. The only thing thats "silly" is being in denial over it. Amare is damaged goods...just not damaged at this particular moment.

Hmmm...how many years has it been since Amares micro? About three? I give it another 3-4 years....

The economy is hurting Sarver (banking) and he is desperate to unload salary. It is just crap all around.

I don't even know why I am posting. I've tried, but I really find it hard to care anymore. It's hard for me to say because I have been an absolute nut for the Suns for 34 years. I loved JC, but I hate him for selling the team out the way he did. He should have let Bryan buy him out.

I completely understand where you're coming from JC. I've only been a fan for 17 years so I don't have as much vested as you do, but lets try and remember that this is the Phoenix Suns, not the Sarver Suns. The team needs our support. Maybe one day he'll sell and we'll get someone who really cares about the team. You never know.

Sarver doesnt care about the team?? The dude has been spending money left and right bringing players in only to be let down by them. I feel more sorry for Sarver for getting ripped off.

O.k. it's been documented on this board in about 1 thousand posts how his cost cutting measures likely cost us a championship. Now it's costing us our best player. Maybe I worded it poorly. I think he does care about the team, just not as much as making money.

Just look at the payroll of the team dude....Just look at all the "name brand" players we have. If he saves money in one area and spends it in another area that doesnt make him cheap for gawds sake.

The payroll was there before sarver was here. It's not like he bought the team THEN unloaded his wallet. He knew the circumstances coming into it. He knew the costs that were needed for the team, and has been pretty frugal throughout.

If you truly think he has been spending money left and right you are absolutely delusional. Where has he actually spent money? I am at a loss.

Have you forgotten all the Forbes articles about how lucrative this team is? Regardless of his actual losses of the team, the Suns bring in quite a bit of dough.
Sometimes I think you play devils advocate just to marinade in the shock you produce.

I'm delusional?? Sarver brings in Nash, Shaq, Richardson and inks Amare, Diaw, Bell, Banks for big contracts. Had KT for a while with his big contract. Are they a figment my imagination?

Some of you dont cut him a break because he sold a few draft picks. Big f'n deal. He's more interested in established players...that doesnt make him cheap.

Sarver spent hundreds of millions of US dollars for the Phoenix Suns. That is an undeniable fact. He might have made some mistakes, but it doesn't take away any credit he deserved. I'm sure he is trying to do the best thing for the team right now. Let's hope this time he makes the very right decision.

Nash's contract is a great deal. We needed a point guard. His contract paid for itself halfway through with the fan following he has. This doenst confirm or deny cheapness.

Shaq was offered to us, and his trade SAVED money. He also brings in a ton of merch money to the franchise. This is a no-brainer move and doesnt refute cheapness.

Diaw was signed and shipped out.

Banks was signed and shipped out quicker.

Good job bringing up KT, solidifying the opposite of your claim. These last 3 show buyers' remorse. Something cheap and inexperienced consumers deal with regularly.

Amare and JRich are both on great contracts as well. If your argument can be dissolved down to "he signed players with contracts to play basketball" then you have failed. Why does he have to sign an entire team of vet min players for the cheap label to be accurate in your eyes?

Selling draft picks isnt a big deal? Why are we obligated to cut him a break? What has he done to deserve it? The bulk of your argument is fallacious, the rest is silly.

You're delusional.

When Sarver inked Nash even big bucks free spending Cuban said he wouldnt match it. Then your talk about players being signed and shipped out (years later) like they never counted?? Sarvers payroll has consistantly been in the upper third of NBA teams....to the tune of 75 million (#8 in the NBA)

Your logic is so upside down and twisted you arnt even worth my time. Your name should be SUNSstroke instead of YouJustGotSUNSD :doi: I don't think you ever "sunsd" anyone in your life.

Sarver isn't cheap but he is totally clueless. His learning on the job has pretty much F'd the Suns out fo a title, brought in dead weight in Shaq and soon will ship out the team's best player, because the "fans" FOTM this week is a defensive minded power forward.
