KInda curious at who people are looking at, and where they think that certain players will go. Now draftniks be nice!!! If you dont' think somebody will be there critique, but be civilized about it. Here we go.

Round 1-Justin Miller-CB (Aaron Rodgers, DJ Johnson, Antrell Rolle won't be here)
-Decent size, great speed and tough. Adds more speed to an area of our defense that needs it.

Round 2-JJ Arington-RB (I hope to god Ronnie Brown falls to us here, if not Baas or Arington)
-Has been productive in college but doesn't seem to get much credit or recognition. Similar to Travis Henry without the fumbling.

Round 3-Michael Munoz-OT (Injuries are the only thing holding him back from being the best tackle in the draft)
-A pick we can gamble with. Could be our RT by midseason if he can stay healthy. Hopefully a professional trainging program will take care of his body to minimize the ammount of injuries. Figure we can address the OG situation through free agency but tackle will cost too much.

I think the depth of quality RB's allows us to wait for the 2nd round to get one, we go CB in the first.

1st round - CB's Antrel Rolle or Marlin Jackson

2nd round - RB's DeAngelo Williams or Ciatrick Fason

3rd round - DT's Luis Castillo or Albert Means

LOL at Ronnie Brown falling to the second round!!!!

He won't get out of the top ten, and if we don't take him at 8 (provided Rolle is not there) I will go bell tower.

He's the best back in the draft, IMO. Kiper has him rated as the second best player overall in the draft behind Benson.

D-Dogg-
I know my friend, I know. My hope comes from the thought that if he has a bad combine and poor workouts that he might drop. I'm not sure that his workout numbers are that great, which is the reason that he was behind Carnell Williams on the depth chart for so long. That combined with the plethora of runningbacks available in free agency and the draft, I'm HOPING that we might catch some magic ala Karlos Dansby last year. He also wasn't supposed to drop into round two, but teams filled their needs in other places with "better" backers and he dropped.

My thinking is that Carnell Williams and Cedric Benson will go before him without a doubt. If they have good workouts, both Kay Jay Harris and Deangelo Williams (if he declares) could leapfrog him, and a darkhorse might also come out of the blue (Frank Gore???). I don't see more than 5 runningbacks going in the first 50 players...so maybe, but not likely. That is why I had JJ Arrington in round 2 instead of Ronnie Brown. Basically, I am dreaming a fabulous dream.

I seriously doubt two running backs get taken in the top 10. I would never say "never", but that would be bucking the recent trend on drafting RBs.

Um why are drafting back to back RB? Its not like we don't have a lot of holes on the team.

He is making a stable. I like it.

1st: A. Rolle (CB) Miami, What else can I say, this kid is a stud!

2nd: JJ Arrington (RB) CAL--best RB in draft and great steal!

3rd: Jovan Haye (DE) Vanderbilt--Built Solid(6'3 280), has excellent speed (4.78 40) it would be great to see him on the other side of Berry--as a matter of fact--he may be the next Bert Berry and wouldn't we all like to have 2 of him!.

He is only a junior and his production fell off this year, but he is a team captian and has reputation as a work-out King.Could be another excellent steal.

Two scenarios -

First assumes that Rolle is head and shoulders above the other CB's and that we can afford to pass on a RB or QB

1. Rolle CB
2. Hawthorne NT or Patterson DT
3. Clarett RB

Second assumes we'd better get a QBOF

1. Leinart QB
2. Hawthorne NT or Patterson DT
3. C. Rogers CB

Third assumes, we should roll the dice on a RB

1. Benson RB
2. Hawthorne NT or Patterson DT
3. C. Rogers CB

Fourth one assumes QBOF, we get our NT in free agency.

1. Leinart QB
2. R Brown RB
3. C Rogers CB

Note - I based my estimate of where guys might be available on the War Room's Top 99 Draft Board.

My two scenarios:
if DeAngelo Williams declares:
1-Rolle
2-Williams
3-One of two guys coming off injuries-Ben Wilkerson(he or Step can play guard),Lance Mitchell

if DeAngelo stays in college:
1-Derrick Johnson
2-Jimmy Williams-Vtech
3-Maurice Clarett

Will Carlos Rogers be a 3rd round pick. All I've heard is he has the talent to go much higher. I'm not quite as sold on the QB in the first round.

1. CB Antrell Rolle
2. RB JJ Arrington
3. QB Andrew Walter (Something just tells me he might be a Denny Green-type QB- also he will slip in the draft)

or CB Carlos Rogers (I think he goes EARLY 2nd)

I think he'll go higher. But he was ranked #83 by the War Room, so I grabbed him.

That's the kind of thing that happens in the "real" draft - that's how a Dansby or a Dockett could go as late as they did and fall to us in the 2nd & 3rd round.

My point - If not Rogers, someone else who is higher rated typically would fall to us.
