The Exeter High School girls hockey team had the New Hampshire Divison I Player of the Year winner for three straight years from 2018 to 2020. Now the Blue Hawks have another player to join Carissa Towlson (2018, 2019) and Shauna Vadeboncouer (2020) as the state’s best girls hockey player.
Exeter junior Maddy Mann, who had 40 goals and 20 assists this season, was named the Division I Player of the Year for 2025.
"After observing so much talent throughout this season it’s safe to say I was surprised," Mann said. "To me this award meant that all the effort and time I put into a sport that I love was recognized and that meant so much to me, I couldn’t be more thankful."
Exeter finished the season with a record of 12-8, falling to top-seeded Oyster River/Portsmouth in the quarterfinals.
"(Mann) is very deserving of this award, this is a true testament to the hard work and dedication that she has put into hockey over the years," Exeter head coach Andrea Nichols said. "She comes to practice each day wanting to get better and to push her teammates to get better as well.
"In games she has been able to make the big plays when we have needed them, whether that’s scoring a goal or coming up with a block shot," Nichols continued. "She is the heart and soul of our team. The girls look to her not only for her natural scoring abilities but also her leadership and vision on the ice."
Oyster River/Portsmouth, which played in its third straight Division I state championship game, had two first-team selections in junior forward Eliza Farwell and freshman defenseman Samantha Anderson.

St. Thomas Aquinas/Winnacunnet/Dover senior goalie Annabel Prochilo was named to the second team. Receiving honorable mention were Oyster River/Portsmouth’s senior forward Kira Jakobs, junior defenseman Meagan Rinko and freshman forward Ava Gasowski.
