I like the Blazers trade the best since we are also getting a young center back.

I think if the Bucks were to add Sanders then I would consider their trade too.

But I don't see us trading Gortat....at least not yet. He's the best center the Suns have ever had in their franchise history. The FO knows they would have to feel the wrath from the fans if they were to trade him.

Who are these "experts"? Of those listed 3 and 4 are the only ones I'd consider and that's if the Thunder trade is including the Raptors pick.

Trading for Austin Rivers, who's been even worse than I expected would likely drive me to stop watching games.

Meyers Leonard was the Prospect I wanted in the Draft and the no protection on Draft Pick is tempting! I didn't care for any of the other Trade ideas though.

The article implied that Phoenix would trade Gortat as his value is at an all-time high, while the Suns aren't looking to contend for the next 3-4 years at least.

That Boston trade is awful. We dont need another PG and what does Cortney Lee do for us? Yes, we need a SG to compete but if we are trading Gortat we obviously dont intend to compete. If they tossed in Sullinger it would make sense.

But I agree with the premise. By the time we are a decent team again Gortat will be leaving his prime and he could net us a big killing in a trade to shorten the rebuild.

All of those trades, except for the Portland one, are terrible for Phoenix, returning players with very little long-term potential. Gortat's value is high enough that the Suns should be able to get a high-quality prospect in return, not just a guy who might eventually be starting-caliber on an average team.

I'd prefer a 3 team trade that sent Perkins back to Boston along with Marshall, Gortat to OKC and Bradley, Lamb and 3 unprotected 1sts to Phoenix (plus filler if needed).

I think Lamb is a higher quality prospect than Leonard and the Raptors pick would likely be better than the Blazers team with Gortat. The downside to that trade is Perkins.

I don't want 1st round picks if they're not good ones. The Suns don't need 12 low first round picks in the next 4 years.

If I was gonna trade Gortat I'd want a deal like they got for Nance.

I'd rather have 12 perfect picks also but future 1st round picks have value and I'd stockpile as many of them as I could if it were up to me. I'd still ask for better picks but two intriguing young players and 3 future unprotected 1's is a good deal for Gortat even if they were bottom of the round.

Do you remember that year the Celtics had the 22, 23 and 24th picks or something like that. They could be trade chips but its more likely at least some of them would get sold for cash.

Perkins back to Boston is moot anyway. Perkins has negative value, there is no way a team is giving up assets for him.

And they are likely to miss also, I'm not disagreeing with you. It's just that future assets are undefined by nature and you never know what you can do with them. Also, I wasn't specific with the picks because all I was really doing was combining the proposed Boston offer and the proposed OKC deal (minus Courtney Lee and throwing in Kendall Marshall). No matter what, it has to be a much better offer than the original proposals. I'm not exactly sure which picks either of those teams have stockpiled but obviously we'd want the best available.

Eastern writers always want to plunder the Suns to help their home town teams. (see endless ESPN Nash trade ideas)

It's against site policy to post full articles. Especially from ESPN Insider which is a pay site. You should probably delete all the commentary and just leave the trades up so ASFN doesn't get in trouble.

I really like the OKC trade, especially if the pick is Toronto's #1. The Blazers trade is intriguing also. It would be interesting to see if they could swing a 3 team deal with both of them. Maybe send one of the Lakers picks to Portland w/ Perkins to bring Leonard here. That would net us Leonard, Lamb and Toronto's #1.

I included Freeland to let the salaries work but Hickson would be an option after December 15th.

I like the Blazers trade the best as it would provide the Suns a young center if Gortat were traded. OKC would be my second choice.

If the Suns trade a legit big man without getting a legit big man in return or at least a very good prospect of a big man...this teams failure is complete. Considering this teams history of going through big men and struggling to find a legit one time and time again. I will take my chances finding a PG/SG/SF in the draft any day over a legit PF or Center.

Absolutely! Gortat may never be an all-star, but he is the best Center the Suns have ever had. To give him up for anything but a better Center would be a huge mistake, no matter what SG, SF or PF we would gain. I can't understand how anyone could think otherwise.

The same is true for having a legitimate PF alongside him. For those teams who are playing a PF at C, look at the Suns history of it. 50-and-fade and decline.

Who are these fans you speak of?
