Rondale should be, but we haven’t seen it. What’s his catch depth? Still like under 2 yards? I’d really like to see kliff start using him with a little more diversity of routes.
Me too but when we use 11 & 12 personnel Kirk is gonna be the only slot. So far he seems to only use Moore for jet sweeps, bubble screens & gadget plays. "Moore" (pun intended) routes downfield damnit lol.

Do some contracts get done during the season? Or does everything wait until after the season?

I guess like last season you can't keep them all. I'm sure they would have liked to keep Reddick but can't retain everyone plus make new signings.

Who are we not contracting for next year to free up cap space, that we can replace with others from within or cover cheaply?

Also let's hope we have a good playoff run. Is team success enough of a motivator for people to stay for less than their market value? Or does "getting paid" trump all?

Ertz and Conner are easiest to replace. I realize CJ is declining but what rookie or journeyman pass rusher is going to provide game changing production next year. I would overpay him for one year and draft a pass rusher early.
That's what the franchise & transition tags are for.

Conner is only 26 a three year deal is reasonable.
He is 26 today and a year in the RB years is like dog years. He'll be 27 when he signs his next deal and still hasn't played a full season. This year has not been the norm for health for him.

Also this!

AFTER AGE 26, PRODUCTION OF NFL RUNNING BACKS NOTICEABLY DECLINES

I will also add that the Cardinals gave David Johnson that massive extension that kicked in when he was 26, which was 2018. How did that work out?

Too early to say because we don't know how the season ends. You have a great finish and maybe guys want to come back for more. You have a bad finish maybe guys want to come back for unfinished business. Or you have the thing that often happens where a winning team suddenly pulls apart as everyone wants a new contract.

Too early to know where we'll be

Historically I will concede multi-year contracts for RBs are not worth it. I also believe there are exceptions to most rules. What makes Conner an exception? For starters he’s not one dimensional. He can handle short yardage. He’s is capable of making a breakaway run from scrimmage. Finally, he’s an exceptional receiver, as indicated by last week’s one-handed grab. Also notable is he runs with an attitude. He fights to get every foot out of every play. This year when Edmonds went down, Conner picked up the sack. He’s had some injury, but always bounced back. He wants the ball when the game is on the line. Pay him.

Ertz is earning $8.5 million when you total his 2021 salary. I would imagine he would be looking to increase that number to some extent in 2022. He is probably going to be asking for something north of $9 million a year.

Again it's too early to know. Ertz has to feel great getting out of Philly when he did. He was being wasted there because of Hurts. Look at last week one game with Minshew at QB their offense completely opened up because they had a guy who can throw over the middle. Ertz has to realize how good he has it in Arizona.

We have an elite QB, an elite WR, several good other Wr's, a good OL, 2 good RB's neither of him figure to break the bank money wise. Ertz was the missing piece when Maxx went down and he's too smart not to realize that.

He's been there before with Philly when they were good he knows what it's like and he has to see all the pieces are there on offense. The defense is a bit older but still very good, very talented and has some guys who are becoming good players. He has to see that it's a good situation and maybe he'll want to come back for more and be willing to not try and break the bank to do so.

Two years MAX. Anything else for any RB that isn’t all world is foolish, IMO.

Then it isn't a rule. ;)

That said: I want him back.

Haven’t had a back like Conner since Mendenhall. And he’s far better then the aforementioned. Lock him up.

If Ertz is looking to cash in run it back with Maxx. However I don’t see him going anywhere.

I don't know, he just turned 31 and if I were him, I would be looking for a 3 yr contract to finish out my career. It would be his last splash to make big money.

I’m not sure what Conner has to do to prove he’s not your typical RB, but I would do what it takes to retain him even if that means 3 years.
