REUNITED: Sources tell me CB Tramon Williams @HighRizer22 will be returning to the #Packers on a 2-Year Deal...He played there for 9 years and helped seal the #SBXLV victory...Much needed CB help is on the way @nflnetwork @NFL

They seem to this every freaking year like a broken record with a vet which suffices at the position... "Come on down McClain, you are the next contestant at corner number two on 'if you do well, the price will not be right'

We get cute and then get burned.

Partially agreed. I wish we'd invest a decently high pick on a CB to lock down that spot at a decent price for the coming years. Brandon Williams was a poor attempt at the idea. But re-signing Tramon for two years would have been no better.

Unfortunately, we're probably in bandaid mode again given our need at QB and WR. We could always bring back Cooper or some other low-priced vet, I guess.

The Cardinals want FAs at the number they want them at...my only frustration with their approach is that it seems like they take a harder line with the players they are trying to re-sign vs the players they sign from other teams. I think this organization misses a bit in terms of continuity/chemistry with how much they shuffle starters.

Past drafting a QB in round one, this is my biggest gripe about this team which infuriates me. Powers, Tramon, Hood where all let go when they got the job done opposite of Peterson and playing opposite of Peterson is a huge responsibility and a huge hole on the defense when we do not have someone to man the spot. This ongoing load of crap being dumped on the defense year after year after... of being freaking cheap at this necessity at a crucial position which a rookie cannot be expect to have success, unless you want the kid to look like a total jackass with a majority of the offense in a jump to the pros is gaming against him, is asinine

Not defending management but i wonder if Cards have set a certain limit on what they will spend on CB because they feel whoever they get will be average at best and the FO doesn`t want to overpay.I also think this says CB is a possbility somewhere early Rounds of the draft.
QB,OLine has been worked on in Free agency. That leaves WR,CB,DLine,TE and QBOF(maybe) to address in the draft or inexpensive FAs.Draft has a lot of solid WRs and BIGBOY DLine guys and TEs and CBs.

In fairness, Wilks likes his outside CBs over 6'. Williams wasn't that type of guy. But this is also why I was surprised when I saw them looking into EJ.

Meh, I don't know. Cooper was attained on an in-season trade, Williams signed in late July last year. So they seem to figure it out sooner or later, but I will admit I wish it was sooner. I also wish it was for a longer period then a year.
