Fall camp starts Monday. Crazy. Lots of good storylines to follow, including several heated position battles, including at QB, Edge, CB and others. Also, will this team gel in time for the start of the season? New coaching staff and many new players. We shall see.

Here is what the ASU defense hopes to achieve... attack.

Kenny Dillingham thinks the roster has improved dramatically with 31 Division 1 transfers.

Finally, we can talk some football.

It felt like Bourguet had this pretty well in hand but I keep hearing about Pine winning the job.

They are both totally capable of starting, Pyne racked up 10 wins for Notre Dame for crying out loud. The question is, who is going to perform better in Fall Camp? I give TB the edge just because he is literally a coach on the field and will make less mistakes. Should be interesting.

Pyne is definitely the more talented of the 2, but TB seems to have a lot of respect from the men he plays with. I'm rooting for TB. He has persevered and is a true devil. He has earned this opportunity and I hope he gets it.

Pardon the interruption, but some football is being played!! Looks like a great QB competition

Kinda sucks that one of these guys isn't going to get to start, I always hate this part of the college game. I remember when it was Taylor Kelly (or was that Manny W?) winning out over some other top notch type guys who transferred out...

Sophomore CB, Isaiah Johnson, has been dismissed from the team.

Dillingham clearly doesn't mess around. Wow. A lot of coaches would keep a guy around even after criminal charges. We've seen that. But if you are tardy too much, you are gone here.

And this....

Interesting how Dillingham described the QB battle in above video. Said Pyne had "another good day" and TB had a "solid day". Don't read too much into that!

But the part that struck me is how he is essentially saying that the team will pick the starting QB, ie. it will become obvious who the leader of the team is when they start doing more scrimmaging and you can tell who is scoring the ball more, "no matter how it looks". He referenced that's how Taylor Kelly won the job, he was the one leading the offense to scores in the scrimmages.

This is where it would be nice to have a subscription to one of those pay websites that track all the QB stats at practice. But I am too damn cheap!!! :bang:

247 has a deal for 20 bucks for a year going on right now. I gave it a shot to see if it is worth it.

Two NFL scouts says ASU looks better than expected in regard to speed, size and athleticism.
