Two NFL scouts says ASU looks better than expected in regard to speed, size and athleticism.

I think a lot of people are going to be suprised this year on the turnaround. We have brought in a lot of great athletes and will be playing 8 home games.

Our receiving corps is absolutely stacked. And yet that group was doing up downs after practice yesterday, wasn't measuring up. They are pushing these guys hard. And Jake Smith, transfer from USC has been wowing people. That WR room is already deep, and now you add him. Its ridiculous. Who's got that koolaid? Pass me some please.

Opponents better drink a lot of koolaid before the game because ASU has been practicing outside the practice bubble.

The heat should play to the Sun Devils advantage.

I had high hopes for this kid, this season.

Ya that really sucks, he was a projected starter.

I wonder what the "incident" was?

KD is not messing around though.

But I really like Djonkam, the read headed menace, who may be the "next man up".

When Frank Kush was head coach at ASU many talented players walked off from Camp Tontozona. It was that tough. I'd cringe after every defection.

Somehow, Kush got the best of the players that really wanted to play.

And in these situations it sounds like KD is booting the guys off the team. I really would like to have more facts, but they are probably not going to disclose anything. This recent one must have been pretty serious? I don't know. It seems like a player should get some warning first, maybe he did. I already forgot what happened with the other guy last week, lol.

Yeah, we will probably never know all the details in a lot of the situations. Coach Dillingham seems fair.

Pyne ended last week strong, but looks like TB is on top today...

Still early and very fluid, but Drew Pyne may be starting to emerge as the starting QB.

And that was something that was percolating heading into fall camp.

Interesting. From what I am reading and consuming on youtube, TB is playing very well, accurate, etc, but Pyne may be making more happen with his athleticism and being able to hit more targets farther down field. I remember TB hit a lot of short and midrange passes, but I don't remember a lot of deep balls. He is very efficient, but I am wondering whether defenses are able to roll up roll up on him a bit.

Overall, sounds like the defense is kicking the offense's tail so far. The offense will probably be happy to see Southern Utah's defense in a few weeks.

What I was hearing prior to fall camp was TB was doing well with consuming the offense but since he doesn’t have a very strong arm, that could cause some issues.

Pyne, on the other hand, was showing a strong arm and ability but it sounded like his accuracy was an issue in spring. It sounds like that has been rectified and I guess it sounds like he is the front runner.

Just give me the guy who gives the tan the best chance to win. TB is the sentimental program guy but if he is beat holding a clipboard then so be it

From what I've been reading Pyne is making more mistakes than TB. This feels a lot like Kelly vs Berco. Berco had more talent but Kelly was more consistent. I trust KD will play the best guy.

Pyne did throw a pick 6 yesterday, so there is that. Without going to watch the practices or pay for a subscription to one of those pay sites, its hard to know for sure. The Locked on Sun Devils guy I posted above has been going to the practices, but says he isn't going to Camp T for whatever reason.

Sounds like the boys are starting to complain a little bit. Time to find out who the leaders on this team are going to be.

Keep your mouths shut guys, or you might end up down the road. LOL

Here's the complaining about all the complaining...

Sounds like KD is doing a good job in putting the team in a position to suffer a bit, no practices under the dome, long practices, etc. Good character building. ;)

The Camp Tontozona scrimmage is reportedly scheduled for Saturday at 9 am.

Wow, didn't realize this was a thing. Both would be a loss but we are pretty stacked at WR. If Alford cant' play, that's really going to suck for the secondary's depth.

Hopefully the offensive line can come together - it seems like one of the key question marks right now. We might need two quarterbacks if the OL cannot keep them upright. Really excited about things like the receiving corps and pass defense. Six wins will be difficult, despite all the home games, with the conference so strong.

Camp Tontozona is so beautiful. It should be used more by the ASU football team. It's a legendary piece of their history.

The coaches will be staying in the cabins as a show of togetherness.
