Personally, I think Peter Gabriel is brilliant.
I was fortunate to see "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway"
tour and to this day it was still one of the best shows I have ever seen and it was because of Peter Gabriel.
Genesis was not the same without him.
Watch Peter Gabriel's Growing Up DVD. Brilliant.

That must have been a happening to see his theatrics live......

Yeah....it was tragedy when he left Genesis because it esentially became Phil Collins and his back-up band...... Rutherford and Banks were obviously a lot better than that......

Ome album that everyone should check-out (if you havent) is "Passion" his filmscore for Last Temptation of Christ..... The tapestry of sound is amazing....

Yup. 70s prog rock rules. Yes, Genesis, Rush, ELP, etc. I'd even kinda throw Deep Purple into that category, although they were a bit heavier.

"Eye In The Sky" ....Lord...it seems like yesterday since that song came-out..definitely one of my faves from the early 80s.... Also... he isnt that bad of a producer either.....

Paul Westerberg of The Replacements has to be on the list. He played at the Marquee on Friday night. Great show. When he is on, he is great. When he gets sloppy, he is still very entertaining.

This is the setlist from an LA show i grabbed from a website...but it is essentially what he did in Tempe. I took out some of the stuff he did not do in Phoenix and the only song I can remember he did that is not on this list is Little Mascara.

It was a good mix of old and new and his voice was in better shape than most of the Mats shows I saw. He was sober and rested, but still pretty sloppy (getting bored mid song, forgetting lyrics, etc.)

He had a pretty good band assembled (drummer from Prince, Jim Bohquist of Sun Volt on bass and Kevin Bowe played Bob Stinson).

I've always enjoyed Neil Finn's music... whether if he was in Split Enz and Crowded House..... Do you ever listen to his collaborations with his brother Tim? It's awesome....especially their performances on kcrw.org "Morning Becomes Eclectic".....just classic......

Also, Elvis Costello's perfomances on that same program was phenomonal....
