I still don't understand how you can be in the second largest metro area in the country......and see so many streets empty of zombies....there should be groups in the hundred thousands roaming the streets of Los Angeles.

Exactly, they could only lock up so many in the Forum, and they were let loose anyway. How many people live in the LA area? Wikipedia says 13,131,431 in the metro area. Where did they all go?

Anyone excited to be let down by how this show can't touch the walking dead? Think they'll evolve any characters into actual likeable people outside of strand?

I am going to give this show another run...mostly because I am a zombie apocalypse believer, and it always helps to have extra intel.....

but also,...I am hoping to see the druggie kid develop.....that scene in episode one,...when he came running out of that crack house...pulling up his britches with one hand while looking back over his shoulder....that showed lots of promise....it was the most realistic scene I have ever seen in a zombie flick...crazy junky boy LOOKED exactly like he was running from zombies.

As much as I couldn't stand TWD any longer, I kept with this one just for the comedic value--kind of like I did with Under the Dome. Unfortunately, as with UtD, it was just too ridiculously stupid to even provide that kind of entertainment.

Oh I don't even have cable, I'll be dropping $40 so I can watch the season like I did twd. I have very low expectations but even if I still don't like it, I'll still like it. I can't help myself. The other show is too good for this to be bad

If they can just get me to like the character's, they'll have me. I only remember a few names and it took a while to remember them. They need to die or become relatable.

You're not only going to watch this show, but you're going to pay $40 to do it?

Without cable, it's the only way. 15 hours of entertainment is worth $40

Not for this show. Plus, there are other ways to watch it. Plex has free channels and one of the shows on a couple of the channels is FTWD. Also, I noticed Season 1 was on Hulu. So, I wonder if you will get a delayed telecast of this show like many other shows on Hulu. Not sure.

season one did not hit hulu until spring, months and months after the season was over (it ended in late sept, early oct). I was excited to have FEAR free, waited several days, it never hit Hulu so I just bought it.

What do you mean plex has free fear? I assume it is not the very next day it is suddenly on there for free? Especially when even hulu does a delayed release way after the season instead of next day releases like it does most shows.

How I understand it, they have developers who write code to take the channels online streams and bundle them all together in a single channel for most of the popular shows on TV. They seem to have a back catalog of older episodes as well. It's not a simple download and install and takes some configuration. However, I use Plex for my entire movie and music catalog (it's a home server program). However, it has the option to install TV channels that are configured by developers. I for example, get the latest episodes of Vikings as soon as it's posted online. It's also how I watch TWD.

I am pretty sure I had seen Fear on there too but I will double check. Some of those same shows are broadcast in other countries without a geo lock and some do have geo locks but are bypassed. There is nothing illegal about it. They don't stream live TV which would be illegal. There are streamed episodes usually from the network's own sites either here or in other countries.

I would imagine since some of those channels require subscriptions that some of these developers are using their own subscriptions to create these channels (similar to you getting your friends or relatives DirectTV password) for streaming access. Plus some of those same shows are broadcast in other countries without a geo lock so that's how they get some of those. There is nothing illegal about it. So you are saying you watched season 6 of TWD through this app for free and could always watch it in pure HD the following day?

Yes. Although not sure about the resolution (it's definitely not SD). I believe it's whatever resolution the website provides. Some say it's 720P but some shows seem higher than that for me.

Also, I am a Plex member and I pay $4.99 per month so I am not sure if the free version has access to TV Channels. There are some caveats. For example, many channels only have the latest 5 episodes (as defined by the networks on their sites. Some offer more). Also, occasional the channels go out and it's a week before they are fixed. Every single time the network updates their website sometimes the Plex Channels fail until they are fixed. I think most content is obtained via bypassing region locks and picking up content from other regions. I would recommend visiting forums for more of the technical details.

Just be forewarned, even though it's not illegal what they are doing, it's not a guarantee the TV networks don't take this to court and make accessing region locked stuff illegal and then this all goes away.

Interesting though. I do like knowing I will have my episode no matter what (unless xbox goes down grrrrr) so I may not use that for TWD but its something I may consider trying to now with FTWD to see how it goes.

$40 isn't enough to pay me to watch 15 hours of FTWD :)

I guess I'm amazed because the quality is so poor that even you yourself admit it's something of a slog, that you'd then pay $40 for it. I get your TWD love--I don't in the least agree the show has any quality left, but I understand those who still do love it--but not FTWD for that much money.

My other option is to not watch it until next spring. I don't like that option. I still have hope it'll get good and while slogging in season 1, I still enjoyed it.

Also it is something me and my daughter do together (watch walking dead) so I am getting more than just 15 episodes of average TV.

Like I said, you couldn't pay me to waste my time watching it. Our opinions couldn't be farther apart. But, to have something to do together with your daughter is priceless, and it is one point I'm happy to agree on. It's worth any amount of money for that :)

Even the last zombie attacking Junkie Depp got so bored with the season premier it just gave up. "This is a stupid waste of time. Swim away."

This series should have been impossible to screw up, but somehow they managed to make it so boring that no one really cares who lives or dies. Seriously, they had a chance to show what happened to the world and this is the best they could imagine? SMH. Zzzzzzz.

You know what kills me? It's not as if the writers of this show didn't have season upon season of complaints about the endless meandering through forests on TWD for example. So, they replicate that formula with meandering though the neighborhood all last season and then again by taking us on cruise? I mean come on.

Now factor in that this group of people were some of the dumbest I have seen between both shows and continue to do dumb thing after dumb thing?!? It's almost too much to take.

This may be the most bungled show I've ever witnessed. They knew making this thing that people wanted to see how society collapsed, they showed the first roughly... 8 hours of it, then skipped the rest.

And these characters are wretched. I also don't get what happened to Kim Dickens acting ability. Everything else I've seen her in she is great, on this show the shows the emotional range of a peacock. Nothing but blank stares and a resting bitch face.
