Any of you feeling better about the team yet? The win yesterday was impressive and I feel much better about the teams ability to go deep into the playoffs. Surprised no one is excited we just spanked the team that spanked the Lakers the other night. Not only did we beat the Pistons we did it to a rested Pistons team as they were not on a back to back or anything, oh and we were short Barnes, Barbosa, and Shaq in the second half. The team seems to be coming around, very exciting.

That was exciting basketball to me. (at both ends)
Amundson is a scrapper who fights for everything. I hope Porter gives him 10 min. or more a game.

last night was the first time all season that I actually saw us play a good full game of basketball. it's definitely given me a little hope.

11 games into new season with a new coaching staff and system I think its going pretty well. And one would have to assume that as the players get more and more time in this system they will execute it even better. We have a potentially very solid playoff team that can play on both ends, thats pretty exciting.

I'll wait for the Lakers game before I post any more comments. Our pathetic play in many games other than the Pistons game doesn't give me much hope.

I don't know whether our offense got better or Pistons' defense not as well as NO's and Rockets'. We had a lot of space. Amare and Diaw in particular moved very well without the ball. However, bad spacing happened occationally like when several picks by Amare failed to materialize and Nash's pass attempt to Amare 1 step away from him got intercepted by his taller defender Stuckey.

It appears good things happen when Nash doesn't stick to the ball too long and passes it to Amare/Diaw earlier in the shot clock. If it's mainly inadequate defense by Pistons, we have yet to pass the test by NO/Hou type of defense that specializes in suffocating our PG.

Wow.

Hide the rat poison.

well it's not like he's lying when he said that. people want immediate results and that's perfectly normal. there really were games where there were pathetic moments, especially on the losses, that could make even andrew worried. this early in the season, it's not time to be worried yet but so far the guys haven't shown why we shouldn't. even though we have been forwarned that it'll be shaky early on, seeing the instability first hand just leave people uneasy (or thinking at least). even at 8-3, considering human's insatiability, of course they want more...

as to the question, hell yeah i feel much better. a glimpse of how we could potentially is always a treat. it's the friggin pistons!!!

can't wait to say "it's the friggin lakers" too (hey, no one said it would be easy) ;)

I loved the game because everyone played at 100%

Amare got his without demanding the ball. Plus he had some great defense at times and a few blocks.

Nash did his thing and locked down some great 3 pointers, which had been lacking recently. He also kicked ass on the defensive side with 2 BLOCKS and a few charges taken.

Shaq owned the game until he owned stuckey's face.

Hill was everywhere and doing everything, and he and shaq looked like the youngest players on the court at times.

Diaw actually emitted sweat from his testicles, hinting that they may have been utilized in some form.

Amudson continues to deliver what is requested of him plus a little more.

Dragic had some great defense and seems to be getting more comfortable.

Singletary gave us a peek at his defense, 3ball, and his confidence.

I really dont like bell's game. He was on rip most of the game and did a great job on defense for quite a while. But he never made rip work defensively, canceling out a lot of his own defensive efforts. So rip ended up with a challenge on offense, but was still their leading scorer, on over 50% shooting. The saying goes make him work on both sides of the floor if you want to limit his offense, and that is severely lacking from Bell's gameplan.

I think Nash bought into the offense more after watching Dragic and Singletary run the team against the Kings. The reserve PGs did not have a dominant role in the game other than to run the offense. I think against Detroit, Nash let the game come to him.

Also, I like how the Suns are challenging most every inside basket by an opponent.

I think we can all agree we are definately moving in the right direction defensively as opposed to prior seasons. If we can stay healthy and get this offense really ingrained in the players we have a good shot. Honestly if we could do what we did against Detroit night in and night out we are going to be very tough to beat, and I like to think as we learn the offense more we can be even better.

I like the way we are playing right now I thought we would have a worse record than what we have trying to learn a brand new defense and offense system this early in the season. But it all comes down to the playoffs that is when the final judgment will be made :).

I'm feeling better. I haven't been down on Porter's ideas so far but I did get worried about Nash and Bell comments to the press combined with their lackluster play for several games. I thought the one game suspension for Nash was a good thing for him - might make him happy to just be out their playing again. Seems to have worked out about that way in the Pistons game.

We didn't play that badly Skumbag we got abused physically in Utah like many teams do when the refs swallow there whistles for the home team. Have you ever seen Nash almost foul out of a game against a backup point? We got called on so many bs ticky tack fouls and they were apparently allowed to hack us to death.

...yeah but do we ever get the special treatment on our own home turf? I think not. I'm not saying we played terrible. I just expected domination in every position minus boozer.

We were playing poorly the whole game but were up for a lot of the first half and kept it close for a while. It was a crappy run that started about 8min into the 4th quarter which really sealed the loss for us.

Lame loss, but you could tell their energy was off right from the start. And who knew CJ Miles and Brevin Knight were going to be the impact players of the game?!??

good answer :D

maybe i'm still hung up with the pistons win, but i do believe there's something to look forward to. i don't want to call that pistons win a fluke since i know that with the lineup we have, we are capable of doing it. i think the problem isn't the system, nor the lack of talent, nor the chemistry but our consistency. should we be able to maintain that intensity, even the lakers wouldn't scare me...
