I can understand the occasional missed field goal.
What I don't understand and I find inexcusable is the FACT that he can't kick a touchback.
IMHO that's a big factor in the loss today.

I'm with you on this, the fact he is unable to kick touchbacks is baffling. His inconsistency on field goals drives one crazy but then I get equally petrified by who is more consistent and available. Kickers are scary, weird unpredictable lol

I'd be shocked if he was on the team next year. He was on the verge of being replaced earlier this year.

However, Feely is not as bad as people here make him out to be. he was literally the entire offense in many games the past four years, and made some clutch kicks.

Yeah, when we really need a touchback he kicks it short. Can't figure him out. Still don't trust him in clutch situations.

Arians does not take miscues liightly. Will be very surprised if Feely is on the team next year. I suspect a very spirited kicking competition in the off season.

feely's made some big kicks for us, so i'm not exactly riding him out on a rail like I did Rackers' pathetic ass, but I agree. we need to find someone better/more consistent in all areas of the kicking game.

In his defense it was clear as day that one of them was the holders fault who failed to get the laces out. It's the same reason the 49er kickers missed his sort FG.

It seems like on the field-goal kicking we could do worse, but I agree with the original post. It's the kickoffs that need to be fixed. We need somebody who can consistently kick for touchback and while we are at it we need to replace Patrick Peterson on punt returns. I honestly think he's the worst in the league now.

As a FG kicker he's average, not bad, not good. As far as kickoffs go, he's one of the worst in the league. Field position is such a crucial aspect of the game, we can't afford to give up an extra 5-10 yards of field position every kickoff any more than we can afford to have one extra 5-10 yard defensive penalty every drive.

There's always a few FA kickers with starter talent. Check back in February. Phil Dawson and Adam Vinateri are two FA's
