I think without a couple of catches made(kirk and johnson) and considering the few passes completed, this stat could be a lot worse

Let's face it, our WRs are not creating separation so if you can't get separation then YAC are going to be low. Larry whether people like to admit to it or not is pretty much done as far as playing in the NFL. He doesn't get any separation and does not demand constant double teaming. I know people will defend him with the hammy issue however he wasn't getting separation before the hammy. The reality is Larry has lost a step and being a guy who was never a speedster, losing that step makes all the difference for him. Williams can't catch a cold. The TE situation is a hot mess and Kirk is the only one getting some separation. The non existent run game doesn't help and not using DJ as a receiver also hurts the YAC stat. Logan who could probably give us a James White type role with even more elusiveness isn't even active on game days. This offense in general doesn't keep any DC awake at night wondering how to defend it.

Seperation is one thing we are missing. But you can scheme routes so that the WR has some space to work with. Especially short routes. Hence we can't even run a bubble screen these days for positive yardage.

As for Fitz, he should go back to a full time slot role. He lines up outside way too often. In the slot he will catch everything thrown his way, acting like a modern era move TE. Outside he is much easier to defend, especially on a bad hammy. We can't always get behind the chains. Throwing a slant to Fitz in the slot is a safer bet for 4 yards than running up the gut on 1st down.
