Agreed. I think Memphis is going to give Phoenix fits. This may go 7 games with either team winning.

I agree with you. Memphis could even take it in six. Tough matchup for us.

this is so ridiculous. You do realize that the only reason the series is tied is because Steve Nash missed one of the games, right? We've beaten them playing up-tempo (first game of the season) and we've beaten them playing their style (94-88). Not to mention that they have been spiraling at the end of the season while we have the 2nd best record since the all-star break and... oh yeah - the best record for the entire season.

Skkorp - you thought 55 wins seemed like it was gonna happen - even after we shot out of the gate s- then though we'd struggle to get 60 and now this? Keep on predicting gloom and doom - it's working wonders for our anti-mojo!

anyone but sactown would have been a tough matchup for us. but i think memphis, with their late swoon, is probably the best we could have done. this is the order in which i fear the west (least fearful to most):

sacretucky
memphis
seattle
denver
dallas
houston
spurs

The Suns have lost at least four games in a seven-game stretch only once all season, that of course being the six-game losing streak. I don't think it will happen in seven games versus Memphis, but I suppose it's possible.

Apart from last night the Grizzles form has been very average. Mainly against very good teams.

It's not like they were dominant last night, either.

This is only the second or third year with a best-of-seven in the first round, the third year I think.

The first time was the same year as the Marbury "stinger" in the first round against San Antonio.

I've lost count already, but that makes this the third year, right? The San Antonio series was Stoudemire's rookie season.

i voted Grizz sweep suns........j/k. who did that?

i'm going to have to go with suns in 6, but i think they can do it in 5.

we've got a nice 8 man rotation with Barbs/JJ/Hunter coming off the bench. we should be able to take care of this grizz team.....but we must always worry about the offensive boards. they are going to keep teams in a lot of games these playoffs.

Suns in 4.

Grizzlies hang close in Game 1 & 2.
Suns win close on in Game 3.
Suns blowout Game 4.
Rest time.

The Griz are a heckuva team. Gasol gets easy buckets. Battier and Cardinal provide the energy. Wright in the middle has always given Amare a game.

But, in the end, PHX just has too much firepower and confidence.

I think Memphis is VERY dangerous. They are super deep. they have scoring punch in the back court. Miller, Wells, Battier, williams, Posey and Watson are decent. Add they're big men and it makes it interesting. Gasol is pretty good but is physically soft, Wright and Swift on the other hand could give Amare fits.

I'm confident we can take them in 6... maybe 5. i'm extremely anxious to see how JJ performs. If he's scoring by hitting his jumpers and that little floater i think we're unstoppable.

Game 1! GO SUNS!

The trick to beating Memphis is not letting Williams or Miller get hot. If one of them does, it'll be a tough night. If they both do, you're probably gonna lose. That being said, they don't get hot 4 times in 7 tries.

having went to the game in memphis this year, memphis get's away with a lot of grabbing and pushing, especially at home. they give the suns fits for this reason. The suns seem to slow down against the grizzlies becuase of this. We played terrible in both games against at Memphis, but we weres still in both games. we won one becuase of joe johnson, and lost the other because we played lazy (and nash got ejected).

Still, i think the suns will play consistent and win in 5.

The Grizzlies won't be able to BEAR the heat fom the SUNS :D

2 games+invocation of the NBA's first ever mercy rule. :D

Actually I voted for the sweep. This team is amazingly confident. And from what I saw from the first set of playoff games, the refs really did seem to allow for more fast breaks. Check out all the triple digit scoring from Day One. Last year I believe the playoff teams averaged something like 88 ppg.
