Why would you move to Arizona in May? Don't you know you are supposed to move there in November. That way you have 5 months to get yourself entrenched in the Valley so that fleeing back to the East Coast becomes too much of a problem.

The way it stands, your likely to leave before you go into debt paying for your first air-conditioning bill.

Now to find out how good our (three) first round picks work out. Don't forget we have Bryant from last year who never got untracked from his late start.

I wanted to experience the blast furnace after our crappy winter back East. Great I have gone to one extreme to the other in weather in one year.

Does anyone else feel I have gone soft? I gotta go back to the city to get my edge back if it is true!

Alright, so does Mr. Graves get kudos for this change or is he still a chump?

No kudos for fixing what should have been fixed before the first minicamp.

That's must be done this year...no excuse.

I think, though, the fact that they were able to work through this waiver issue with each of the palyers and their agents is a good start. Things got so bad with Bryant on this issue last year at this time, I think it really had a negative effect on his contract negotiations.

Basically it answers both the Cards concerns and the Players concerns. The way most Injury waivers work for most teams is it gives you a slotted contract. Means if the guy above you gets a contract with X signing bonus, X years, X escelators, X incintives, and the guy behind you gets X signing bonus, X years, X escelatiors & X incentives, then you are guarenteed to get in the middle of all those options. Problem Cards had with this idea is of course they are not big fans of the escelators and incentives and didnt want to have to agree to them in an injury waiver which under the average team waiver they would have had to.

The waiver the Cards and agents came up with is that you are guarenteed X amount of money based on your slot, but no contract guarentees as far as the escelators and incentives are concerend. So if Pace gets injured in before signing a contract he is guareneteed a signing bonus between Johnson and #19, and a base salary for the average # of years Johnson & #19 sign.
