Going to the Cards vs Panthers OCT 6th. This will be my first Cardinal home game since the team was in St Louis. I am staying at the Staybridge hotel near the stadium with my Nephew. What are some good places to hang out at that I can get my Nephew into that are close by, like within 5 or so miles of the stadium. (He's only 18) I would like to also know of any real good places to eat.

I am looking forward to meeting many of you for the first time. I have been posting here since 2002 and have only met a handful of people from the board at away games in St. Louis and Carolina. It would be nice to put names with faces finally. Thanks for any info!

Westgate is just south of you (half a mile) and has tons of restaurants. If you go North on the 101 to Bell Road (just 3-4 miles away), there is a mall and lots of additional restaurants. The Mariners also have spring training right up there, so there are a ton of venues geared toward attracting sports fans.

There is a movie theater right by the stadium.

Good Beer at Rock Bottom Brewery Rock (7640 West Bell Road). They allow all ages and their food is phenomenal.
Great Steaks: Carvers (8258 W Thunderbird Rd, Ste 206, Peoria, AZ). Some of the best Prime Rib in town
Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville: In Westgate, so you can walk 5-10 minutes toward the stadium and you find it
Native New Yorker: (7273 North 95th Avenue) Right by your hotel. Great wings and lots of sports on TV

Those are my picks off the top of my head. I will try to think of some more.

Almost like the bars and restaurants at an airport with the prices but not quite as bad. Being able to walk there and back is worth the extra cost though.

Be sure and walk around the stadium on game day to check out any give aways or specials. Use a fictitious name to sign up for Credit Cards and get free Cardinals stuff. :D

Thanks for the info. I wanted to get a good layout of the area while I am out there this time. I plan on going to a game every year out there if I can.

We had a Carver's out here years ago and it had the best prime rib around. I wish it was still here. I will be using my Nephew as my DD. I got us the sports car package at the rental car place so he will be all too happy to drive.

I am hoping to see him in a Cards uniform one day. He's quite the player himself and a three sport athlete.

Again thanks for the info. I plan on hitting at least a few places while I am there.

I can't wait to see the stadium up close. It's been so long since I have seen a stadium full of Cardinal fans. It will be nice to see a sea of red finally instead of every other color jersey. Don't worry about the credit cards and me. I have too many cards as it is now. All they will get is a fictitious name.

Yea. I bought two on stub hub. Section 110 row 8. Do you normally have tickets for sale? If so I might just ask you next time.
We have 17 in our group, so we usually have some extras, for sure check with me next time.

Don't forget that closer t game day to check with people here for places to tailgate. ASFN folks are always open to having out of town fans stop by.

Westgate also has a Yardhouse restaurant and Saddle Ranch Chop House. We usually go to Saddle Ranch for pre-game (it has a pretty lively crowd) and Yardhouse is a little more low key with pretty good food and tons of beer on tap. As mentioned before, we also like Native New Yorker and Margaritaville. There is also a Gordon Biersh (sp?) in the parking lot.
Cabela's is also a must stop for us when in town for games and I heard they opened up an outlet mall since my last trip last season.

Sounds good. I am looking forward to learning the area. I hope to get me a condo out there before I retire so I can go to all the home games at some point.

I love Carolinas, but it is a bit of a drive from the stadium to get there, isn't it?

Ajo Al's is also pretty good (not as cheap) and it is right by the Peoria Sports Complex.
