Seems like a fluff piece to me. Don't know how accurate it is.

Caveat---they say that when you are seriously contemplating retirement, you already have one foot out the door. It's human nature.
As B-train says if you can say the R word, your likely gonna do it lolCaveat---they say that when you are seriously contemplating retirement, you already have one foot out the door. It's human nature.
Carson Palmer indicated that he is hopeful but not committed to playing football in 2017 in a text message to Arizona Central's Dan Bickley.
"I guess nothing is ever official until it is, but I'd like to play if my body responds the way I hope," Palmer texted Bickley. Palmer essentially confirmed an NFL Network report via the text message after Ian Rapoport reported Palmer feels "tired, worn down, and trying to see how his body responds" after "the most physically trying season of his career." The Cardinals are hoping to get an answer from Palmer by mid-February so that they can adjust their offseason approach accordingly. Palmer turned 37 in December.

Yuck.Jurecki just mentioned on Fox 10 Sports night that if Palmer hangs it up, ARZ WILL target Glennon as his replacement and if Larry retires they will look to replace him in the draft. Management wants decisions soon so they have time to plan free agency.
Not sold on Glennon would be rebuilding mode....Jurecki just mentioned on Fox 10 Sports night that if Palmer hangs it up, ARZ WILL target Glennon as his replacement and if Larry retires they will look to replace him in the draft. Palmer is going to be closer to 38 than 37 when the season starts. Sounds as if his body is starting to object to the punishment taken over the years and Arians didn't help it by allowing him to get hit often. That and his QB coach is now the same age as Palmer. My gut feeling is Palmer is more likely to pack it in than play in 2017. I just hope he makes the decision sooner than later. I also think if Palmer goes Fitz will follow closely behind him. Fitz has nothing to prove and the window of another SB is pretty much closed if Palmer retires and that would be the only thing that would bring Fitz back. They would be smart to ask Larry to be some type of WR coach.
Actually as I think about it now, the hiring of Leftwich might be an indication that the team expects Palmer to retire, thus they now have a younger coach to work with young QBs.
