Florida basketball had a couple of draft prospects on its roster this season, and USA TODAY Sports projects sophomore forward Alex Condon to be a first-round selection in the upcoming NBA draft.

Condon averaged 10.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.2 assist and 1.3 blocks per game over Florida's 40-game season. He shot 49.3% from the field and 32.8% from 3-point range while being a vital piece of the Gators' NCAA and SEC Tournament runs. The lone knocks on Condon this year are a lack of health — he sprained his ankle late in the regular season and never seemed to fully recover — and he shot just 60.4% from the free-throw line.

A trio of USA TODAY Sports writers, Lorenzo Reyes, James H. Williams and Jeff Zillgitt have Condon going No. 27 in their latest mock. The Brooklyn Nets own the No. 27 pick in the draft from a trade with Houston. Here's what the USA TODAY Sports staff had to say about Condon:

"On a roster filled with talent, Condon, who is from Australia, provided scoring and rebounding with seven double-doubles this season, including 27 points and 10 rebounds in a late-season victory against Alabama. His scoring dipped in the NCAA Tournament but he contributed with his all-around game: rebounding, passing, defense. He had just one point in a Final Four victory against Auburn but came back with 12 points, seven rebounds and four steals in Florida’s win against Houston in the title game."

Condon plays a modern big style of basketball in that he can pass and shoot from distance. The days of bruising rebounders that camp under the rim are long gone in the NBA, and college basketball fans are beginning to see more and more Nikola Jokić, do-it-all types at that level. Condon has NBA size with his 6-foot-11-inch, 230-pound frame, and he moves up and down the court fairly well.

While many consider Auburn's Johni Broome to be the best forward in the SEC, Condon may very well be selected first. USA TODAY Sports has Broome going just behind Condon in the No. 28 spot. The NBA draft begins at 8 p.m. ET on June 25, and the second round takes place the following day.
