Floyd pick just doesn't make sense to me.

I disagree. Williams is bigger and stronger than LSH. Watching him run before his injury, I expected him to be our #1 by the end of the season. Sadly, things don't always work out

That's exactly what I was thinking as well. LSH couldn't hold up if the Cards tried to run him as much and in the same fashion as they will Ryan. Williams does two things Wells can't catch the football and K9's favorite thing can take it to the house when he gets free.

we have a lot of needs, so one must not confuse that Floyd was a pick based on need. The Cards went best possible player on their board and most teams try to avoid drafting for need because it does not work. All one has to do is look at the other teams and where DeCastro, Reiff and the rest where taken. I would say Floyd was ranked higher than the other players on just not the Card's board.

Except the team was quoted saying it was a need pick, and they didn't want to wait to take a WR.

I personally love the pick. We have 2 talented RBs and the best WR in the game, but NO support. Floyd will spread the field and be able to lend blocking support. I think he will improve our team more than any other player there was

I could have done with a LB or CB too though. I'm just happy we didn't reach (understatement) on Cordy Glenn that early...

Uh huh, which means nothing because our O-line is paper mache, our QB will be throwing the ball in fear of being killed.

We don't know that. Show me one post from anyone saying Kurt Warner was going to lead this offense in '08 and lead them to a SB. Most posts I saw were saying Whis wasn't giving Leinart a chance to succeed (LOL, that sounds familiar).

We don't know what will happen. Truth is, Whis has stockpiled skill positions. He's stacked this team with them. If you think Denny Greene did, then you should be equally impressed with Whis. Look at some of the moves: Floyd, Campbell, Peterson, Acho, Washington, Ryan Williams, Beanie etc. He's had some misses, sure, but he's still manned this team with talent.

Can't count Floyd or Williams, as they have yet to play a down in the NFL. Campbell and Acho don't play the skill positions. We shall see who develops and who doesn't.

I have no problem with him as a player but I was like WTF?

Who's going to get him the ball?

Meanwhile our WR's will get open about the time our QB finishes either being sacked or ends up throwing the ball away after running 15 yards backwards.

It opens everything up. Fitz can't exclusively be bracketed all the time now.

We shall see how the QB race shapes up. But the way D's now play us can't be the same. Pick your poison.

About time you posted something, it's been months.

I see you're in an optimistic frame of mind because you have the QB throwing the ball away instead of getting sacked. :D

Secondly, and perhaps most importantly is that I think the Levi Brown pick destroyed their confidence in choosing high grade O Lineman. They most likely consider it a bigger risk than their drafting of skill positions.

I would not be surprised if this were the case. In a lot of way Floyd is a safe choice for the Cards. Like many I'm excited about this pick but concerned about the line. Still, being excited about a pick is a good thing--we don't always get that.

I like the Floyd pick and the Flemming pick....I'm not going to like the next pick which will be us passing on an OL who could help.....the later it goes in rounds the more sack fodder you get to the point where you might as well not draft any OL's and pick up a 38 year old geriatric off the cut wires.

Make it a 34 year old off the cut wires and we're in business. :D

Seriously if the line is getting beat too often the Cards must play Skelton. He's bigger and stronger and has shown he can take the hits and keep plays alive and despite the beatings overcome his inexperienced mistakes and get the points we need to win in the 4th quarter.

Kolb just isn't the right guy if he's going to be sacked 1 time in every 10 pass attempts. Full offseason or no full offseason.
