The alarm is justified. You can do what we did today against bad teams and still win. But 4 turnovers? Giving the ball to a Brady or Rodgers an extra 4 times = beat down.

The turnovers need to get cleaned up. Period. That being said, our offense is executing at a very high level other than that. Our defense is what it is. Bettcher has to be more aggressive, but our matchup issues are not going away. Minter and Bucannon are going to continue to be issues, and better teams will make sure that they exploit them early and often. We are just going to need to limit the damage of those plays, and then count on our offense to score enough that teams can't just run swing/jerk routes all day.

Yep, 14 point road victories with 4 turnovers in the Eastern time zone after and Monday night game is very alarming.

A good time to bump this and couldn't ring anymore true!!! Getting worked by a very mediocre team... The coaching staff did not have us prepared at all!!! Even if we win this was baaaaad!!!

Our offense can move the ball on anyone...though, I do question our run game against a top 15 run defense...

However, our defense is clearly the ***** in the chain... Our LBers are simply not at all reliable. We still can't cover TE's. We still can't generate a consistent pass rush (McCown had been getting sacked at a massive per game rate. Did we even have a sack today?).
And make no mistake - the biggest reason why we were able to overcome our turnovers today and pull out the W was because we only saw Drew Butler on the field twice!!! ;)

Did Freeney have another sack today on that strip of McCown that the Browns recovered?

They beat McCown up pretty good today.

McCown was toying with our defense in the first half. Thank God they woke up and played with passion in the second half.
But seriously, what team hasn't beaten up McCown this year?? The guy is a human punching bag and IIRC, was getting sacked at a rate of 5 per game. We got one... and some good licks on him in the second half... Nowhere near good enough.

Well, it is a 60 minute game. Plus, the Cards were without their best pass rusher and #2 CB.

This was McCown's 6th game and he's been sacked 21 times, according to ESPN.

Both the Offense and Defense are ranked in the top 5 so I'm thinking the team is pretty solid. The schedule gets harder so we will see if they can maintain these results but I'm believing they will.

Yeah, and then we won going away. Everything before that is blah, blah horsecrap.

I'm not into looking at the empty half of the glass, but if you want to do so... enjoy.

Calm down fella... I was merely referencing a post I made in this thread after the Steelers game. Our glass is MORE than half full. I simply pointed out a weakness that I believe will haunt this team going forward when we get back from the Bye and begin to play a much more stronger schedule...;)

+1

We have a good team that has flaws. Making mistakes is how to beat yourself and we seem to be doing that a lot. Need to clean up the mistakes to be a top tier team.

We can see the team's ability and they play really well at times. But not for 60 minutes. Can we do it against teams like the Packers and Seahawks? We will see.

This is a talented team but not a good team right now, meaning they are making too many mental errors and mistakes to be a champion. A pretender or a team lacking talent would not win today with four turnovers on a East Coast road contest regardless of the competition. Then again, one might call them good because the NFL is a mediocre experience now. My only thought is winning the Super Bowl. The Packers are not world beaters, they just have Rodgers which makes them good and the team to go through to claim the NFC. The Patriots in my opinion have a better overall team than the Packers and probably a better QB, and we would have to play perfect and have the ball bounce our way to beat them in the Super Bowl... compared to the rest of the NFC we are 'good' but are we good enough to defeat the Rodger Packers or the Brady Patriots... let's see if the Cardinals can stay focused and if the ball will bounce our way, it is not impossible :)

those rankings will be tested the next two games @ Seattle and home to Cincy. The rubber finally meets the road the next two games. I'm stoked curious to finally see how good this team is.

NE is the only team I think is better than the Cards and they'd have to play a great game to win. Everybody else, I'll take my chances with the Cards.

When your offense is capable of scoring 28-35 per game your teams got a chance. That's the Big Red
