I could live with that but i just think its a mistake to place a second round priority on a position like FS. Especially when we have stud guys like Wilson and Rolle back there.

I think a FA signee like Hope or Demps would have been the smartest thing to do, but I'm just a stupid fan....;)

Rolle definately isn't a stud yet first of all, and FS is a position that needs to be adressed in the very near future.

I would love to have Bullocks int he 2nd round: He has a nose for the ball, loves to tackle, ran faster than I thought he would at the combine. He is a FS but plays much like a SS in the fact that he loves to punish people.

He would be an excellent choice right there.

over at maddenmania.com I have around 9,600 posts (awhole lot dealing with NFL/NCAA discussion)[/I]

This is something to be proud of?

I guess it is better than having 9600 posts on faggystatboy.com

No I mock you because you are acting like a newbie know it all. You are probably the kind of kid who plays SoCom 2 all day long so he can be 3LLT.

No, Im the kind of kid that is in the army and serves his county so you can have the freedom to mock me in the first place...

Im not acting like a know it all, I started this off with a simple comment and he wanted to act like I knew nothing so I put my reasoning of why I think he will suck down...

Please. I am a vet so that doesn't impress me.

Edit: Along those lines, what's your MOS?

As far as this Mock, it doesn't do much for me.

I am still staying out of the Cutler debate because I didn't see him play except at the Senior Bowl.

Bullocks would be a huge reach at our #2 pick. Prime example of taking need over talent.

As far as O'Callaghan goes...

He is huge and will have trouble with speed rushers. He would probably be better as a guard than as a tackle.

Sounds just like another guy on our roster, but with a lot less talent.

Personally I am holding out for one of these two senarios in the first 4 rounds...
A
1-Ngata-DT
2-E Winston-RT
3-C Spencer-OG (might be gone)
4-R Harper-FS (He might be available in the 5th)

B
1-M Huff-FS
2-E Winston-RT
3-B Oshinowa-DT
4-K Boothe-OG/OT (a ton of talent)

As you all will see, two offensive lineman that increase talent depth on the o line, one impact starter in round 1, and fill needs at FS/DT

bankybruce, if you're going to use a picture of Earl as your avatar, you should at least use one with his eyes closed. If you watched the show, you know... ;)

Never mind the Bullocks, let's draft an OT.

I just wanted to say that.

Seriously, drop that stuff right now. I'm a vet, and I'm sure many others on this board are as well. Breaking out the "I do this so you can enjoy freedom" is LAME-O. We're not arguing politics, national security, or freedom of speech, just football.

Understood, but you *are* coming on a bit strong, and you are technically a noob. Relax, chill, and enjoy the board. this is a very laid back, friendly environment (quite different from most USENET/message boards I've been part of in the past).

Welcome to the forum, and in case you don't hear it very often, thanks for serving.

:)

I have said it for 3 months

CUTLER WILL BE A BUST

And if you want to see Cutler in action.....go to a Certain site....:D... and download some games

I have found three games and one of them is the Tenn game

I have seen Vince 5 or 6 times this year and have watched Matt about the same number of games

And IMOP, Cutler is not the same kind of QB as the other 2

I dunno about this, and I'm ask skeptical about Cutler as anyone. I think that he's not a Top 10 pick, and I think that a lot of scouts are saying the same thing. I know that Mel Kiper and Scouts, Inc are. The team that takes him in the Top 10 will be reaching for need. That's fine.

How he performs in the NFL is going to depend on how he's handled in the first couple seasons. Cutler is not Peyton Manning/Eli Manning/Ben Roethlisberger. His footwork is going to have to be totally reformed and that takes time. If whoever drafts him gives him the Kyle Boller treatment ("Here's the ball, kid. Go win the game."), I'm pretty certain that he's going to be a Kyle Boller-type failure.

People seem to think that for some reason (I'm not going to say "because he's white") Cutler is more ready-made for the NFL than Vince Young is. Having watched the kid play, I can say that is not the case. If anything, Young's ability to improvise will make him better earlier in his career than Cutler will (cf. Michael Vick's early success on the NFL scene). Neither Cutler nor Young have been exposed to NFL-caliber offensive schemes, but Young has played against NFL-caliber talent and won (5 players from Ohio State's defense alone will be picked in the first day of the 2006 draft).

I had concerns about taking Young over Leinart, especially trading up to get him. But I have no concerns about taking Young over Cutler. At all. Do I think that Cutler's upside is worth taking him at #10 over a position player that will be able to contribute as at least primary depth this season? Not really, but I wouldn't kill myself over it.
