So, Monday mornings after a loss what I always do is hit the little
"Mark Read" button so all yesterday's posts are gone. I don't need to read all the vitriol. Not that there aren't some great observations but I try not to get myself too wired up with all the negativity. I have some of that myself so I want to cool off first.

Go Cards!

I turned the game off after we went down 7 & then tried the 4th down play in our territory. I then watched the GB game, because I never get tired of watching Carroll lose. I won't watch a single football show between now & next week's game. Just not a healthy thing to do. May be time to catch up on some old Ozark episodes before the new season comes out in January.

It is actually really calm around here today. Seems people have it in perspective. These losses are way easier to take when the team is 8-1 going into the game instead of 4-5 or 3-6.
Most of the Carolina fans were celebrating together and not rubbing anything in our faces, thankfully - because they won but are only 5-5 and we lost but are 8-2.

What's sad is that it was exactly games against Carolina last year that prompted Keim to say we were too soft on BOTH sides of the LOS. Without Murray & many others, that softness reared its ugly head again yesterday.

Yeah, the talking heads saying KC is back after one good game, same old Cards after one bad game.

Exactly, when this type of loss becomes the norm (aka nearly every other year) then it’s much harder to deal with.

I move on to other sports and games when I get frustrated. It helps put things in perspective.

Sometimes I even visit the P & R forum to get my head straight. ;)

Well we are missing 4 of our best players. Lol I mean yes teams are dealing with injuries but they are not 8-2. My point is at full strength we are legit. It’s bad right now but it was bad when we lost to the Eagles on Thanksgiving by 25+ and the. Lost to New England by 40. And then when went to the Super Bowl. I didn’t listen to talk radio because everyone is going to gush over Dallas and Green Bay and Buffalo. Who cares. We have 4 guys hurt and we will get 3 of them back sooner than later. Next week is a big game and if we can win that we Goto the bye 9-2 but I think JJ Watt comes back for the playoffs or end of season. He didn’t get surgery (right?). We have DHop who is an automatic first down and Kyler who is worth 30 a game. And the. Get Edmonds back which makes Conner that much better we are legit. I still think we can beat any team any day and we have proven it. The Rams we destroyed and the Titans too. We are 5-0 on the road. We will be full strength by the end of the season and we will see who is better. I think we can beat Dallas and Green Bay.

I have to turn to music. Changes my mood almost instantly. ;)
Before yesterday the Cards playlist may have included “Don’t stop believing ” by Journey or “No one can stop us now” by Saga. After yesterday it’s more like “Runaway Train” by Soul Asylum or “The end of the world as we know it” by REM. I won’t give up hope and still think we could be playing We are the champions come February!

If anyone needs a diversion today, come on over to the ASU board! We are riding a 2 game winning streak, but there is always plenty to complain about.

Probably shouldn’t tell you about that post from yesterday after the game where that guy was giving away all his money and his Lambo then. Oh, and it was Ladies Night right after the game on here too. And nickel beers. And Larry Fitzgerald stopped by. Other than that, you didn’t miss much.

Can't wait for the new Ozark shows to start in a month or so. I changed the channel many times but it wasn't until the 2nd half, even before then I knew the game was over. Our rush defense is bad, seems like our LB's can't comprehend filling gaps & miss tackles left & right. It got a little better when Jordan Phillips came back but now it's bad again. We're gonna have to outscore teams if the defense doesn't figure it out? Quite frankly that just ain't gonna happen cause there's gonna be games where the offense ain't clicking & the defense has to step up. Man, why did JJ Watt have to get hurt? He would light a fire in that front 7 imo.

For as long as I've watched this team play, and that's been a very long time, I can count on one hand how many of those teams were able to stuff the run. Absolutely nothing worse as a fan than to watch your team get gouged on the ground. Just rips your heart out. Hopefully the game slows down for Collins to eventually be a factor in this area. We need to draft some DLinemen high in the next couple drafts. It's tough because that position always seem to have a very high bust potential. And difficult to bring in those guys via FA because their bodies always seem to be broken down after their initial contracts are up. Not a fan of VJ because I don't think he really puts an emphasis on stopping the run until he absolutely positively has to.

That's been the gripe on VJ every place he's coached that he doesn't know how to stop the run, especially in Miami. I've been watching the Cardinals play almost as long as you & I feel the same way, can count on one to two hands how many times we stopped the run. Sadly most of those seasons were with Todd Bowles as the DC. I thought by drafting Fotu, Lawrence & Allen mixed in with Peters & Phillips we had something but looks like we don't or it's coaching?

It’s coaching & emphasis.
