There was some footage on NFLN the other night showing highlightes of the game in Tampa and everyone was saying 85% of the stadium were Steeler fans. When they showed the clip of Fitz's TD in the 4th quarter there was a full crowd shot and it honestly looked 50/50 with Red and Yellow and it was loud. I dunno if people were just ticked about AZ being there but they really treid to make it sound like it was a home game for Pittsburg even though it didn't look or sound that way. I know there's a lot of corporate/nuetral fans there but for those who went did we have a pretty solid turnout for the big game? Thx...

I was there but can't even guess a percentage. I can tell you there was quite a lot more black and yellow there. But because it was the SB there were many more "corporate types" there than at most games. Most of the game they were cheering for the Stealers but on the Fitz touchdown the stadium exploded and I swear they were all cheering for the Cards. The Card's guts and determination won them over. It was REALLY loud on the TD.

it was at least 4 to 1 in the stadium and seemingly 9 to 1 in Tampa in general.

There was a lot more Cardinal fans there then they get credit for. But my take was 65%/ 35% in favor of Pittsburgh. But - like an earlier post stated- the Cardinals had won over the neutral corporate types.

After Fitz TD I had people (other Cardinal fans) jumping on me that I didnt even know. Some where crying, etc. Steeler fans had heads buried in their terrible towels. For that one moment in time our beloved Cardinals were the "best NFL team in the world". Gives me chills to think about.

I will never forget it...

I thought it was 60/40 Steelers at the SB...Quite surprised that seemingly a majority of the crowd was actual fans and not so much corporate types...entertaining unless they all pick up some team gear for the game. Just my thoughts.... never forget and an awesome experience of course the wrong outcome.....

It was 60 % to 70 % Steeler Jerseys not real Steeler fans. A significant number were what I call bandwagon corporate people. I say this because a huge amount immediately left when the game was over and did not stay for the trophy presentation. I can't imagine myself or any true fan not staying for the celebration.

I think it was closer to 70/30 Steelers at the SB. However I was surprised at how many Cardinals fans were there. I was expecting like 10%. We were lucky enough to sit a a "Cardinals" section. So there were only a sprinkling of Steelers fans near us. Even though we lost it was worth every penny.

I'd agree w/ the 30-35% Cards fans and that it was a surprising turnout. Every "nuetral" fan around us were Cards fans by the end.

I agree with this. I even thought we were going to win even after the Stealers scored at the end.

if Warner would have just gotten half a second more to heave that ball into the endzone, Fitz would have made what would have been the single greatest play in sports history... a Hail Mary... to win the Super Bowl... giving him 200 yards and 3 TDs... I am sure of it.

Think of it this way - there was about 100 signs for "Official Steelers Bar" throughout the Tampa area and I think only one supposed "Cardinals bar." And it was more of a off the wall bizarro Buffalo Wild Wings than an actual bar. Game was 40% Steelers, 10% Cards, and 50% corporate people who didn't give a crap.

Flying there on a direct SWA from Phoenix was full of Birds fans though. Met the infamous Cheese on the plane.

Good point. As far as I can remember 1000's of fans were still in the stadium until after the presentation of the 2008 NFC Championship trophy.

that one Cardinals bar was heaven on earth... just absolutely classic walking into that place. It seemed like Cardinals fans were literally hanging from the chandeliers going crazy the night before the game.

I was at the wings place and at the game, the wings place was packed with cardinal fans and they were selling all kind of anti-steeler buttons at the door. As far as the game I was surrounded by Cardinal fans but then again we was sitting in the Crads family section....:D
