I wasn't going to say anything.

But I just can't help.

First--congrats to the Suns team for a fantastic year. The Suns had the 2nd best record in the NBA and that is definitely something that Suns fans should not forget and should be proud of.

I see people here very emotional saying that the team should get rid of this player and that player.

You already have your core--you don't need a "big name," like a Garnett, Vince Carter, Ray Allen, etc.

The Suns need a bench. They need role players who will come over and play for less money and for the opportunity to play for a championship.

But my last statement will probably be controversial and will cause debate.

For what its worth...

Your problem is your coach.

You have gone as far as you will with Coach D.

Coach D. may be a great guy to have a beer with.

He might be a great figure on the sidelines.

But for what its worth--I think any other coach with the talent in Phoenix would do wonders.

Your defense improved.

But it needs to get better.

And Coach D. considers defense a second priority.

I would seriously consider Jeff Van Gundy.

Yeah I know--he couldn't get a title in Houston.

I don't think Houston has an iota of pure raw talent in comparison to Phoenix.

Keep your core.

Get good role players.

Good bench.

A sturdy coach who will do more for your team just yelling platitudes like "just play harder" and who always looks like he is having a heart attack on the sidelines every time he team is penalized.

Great series.

We'll see you next year.

Nash would make an outstanding coach. My wife has said that about ten times since the playoffs started.

That is 100% correct!!

Face it people, we will go no further with Coach D.

The suspensions and all that other crap aside, I will never forgive him for not resting Nash, Marion and Thomas a bit more in game 5.

We could have won that game, but we ran out of gas.

And that is 100% on D. The man has no game plan other than "go out and play hard" He is a nice guy, not a good coach.

No arctic, you said we only have ourselves to blame for losing. Also you are much more abrasive than GP. Both of you only think it's a great series though because you're Spurs fans. It's sure easy to be pleased with things when you're handed a series win and suffered no punishment for thuggery throughout.

I said the suns were outplayed, but more so I said D'Antoni was outcoached. Most rational people on this board agree that D'Antoni screwed up royal in this series.

Is this not the poster that said he gave up on the Spurs and was now a Suns fan?

This is BS

You know, that's funny. I thought the Suns had Amare and Nash, then some role players. I thought the freedom he gave his players helped them develop into good players and that that was what made him special. Along with his engine Nash.

But I guess, he's under coaching these guys ... :doi:

He is right. D'Antoni is an average coach. Sorry, but that is the truth.

You know what, so were a lot of Coaches in their 4th year. I for one think D'Antoni is an above average coach, with an above average staff as well, and I hate to see the Suns let him go. His style will and can work, but they've had a series of unfortunate events combined with zero bench play (partly D'Antoni's fualt) the last 3 years.

D'Antoni needs to stay as the coach, he might need to be replaced as a GM, I certainly think for the Suns to try to deal Diaw, which is the right thing to do, he needs to have less of a say because he loves Diaw and I don't think will let him go, and of course let's not forget the Marcus Banks failure.
