Chris Hubert got cut out of respect, IMHO, because making the wide receiver group this year will be damn near impossible.

Happy to see Trevor Hartfield go, he was HORRIBLE last offseason, and I never understood why he was kept around.

Buc is not a Safety. I would much rather have Ty + Baker be the S combo. Keep Buc at ILB until we find a replacement for him, then let him walk in FA.

Not sure why, but I pretty much disagree with every post I've ever read of yours. Carry on.

Trump got elected President so Ive never questioned that my opposites exist.

Youre like my painting of Dorian Grey.

Rookie Press Conference with Budda Baker, Chad Williams & Dorian Johnson

xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media

They all sound like great guys... confident but humble. Williams is a little wide-eyed like a kid in a candy shop, but he seems like he was raised well & had a good head on his shoulders.

Dorian comes off really mature & intelligent. His responses are well thought out. He seems like he'll adapt to the NFL really well.

For this formation I like
Golden-Nkemdiche-Jones-Reddick
Dansby-Bucannon
Peterson-CB2-Mathieu-Baker-Branch/Bethea

In base formations I feel like Dansby should probably sit out? Seems like he'd be best as a 3rd down LB at this point in his career.

Great interviews. All have me pumped for the new season. DoJo seems like he has a nasty streak which is great.

They have all these supposed Nickel CBs, but apparently still no FS. I don't get it! Who is going to be the safety valve between the two boundary CBs if not Baker?
Baker is the FS/slot CB, while Tyrann is the SS/slot CB.

I actually think that Baker can/will play a more traditional FS role, phasing out Antoine Bethea.

It is one of the things I cannot stand about the Cardinals defense, and it is the same problem I have with the ILBer position.

Bucanon is not an ILBer, and we have no true free safeties.

Maybe that is the reason teams can smash the ball down the Cardinals' defense's throats in the run game, and throw over the top in the passing game. But, it is not like the Cardinals had a chance to draft a free safety with great range and potential, and passed it up to draft more undersized "hybrid players".......oh wait.

The 2016 Cardinals defense was 3rd in passing DVOA, 7th in rushing DVOA. They were 13th in power defense success (Percentage of runs on third or fourth down, two yards or less to go, that achieved a first down or touchdown. Also includes runs on first-and-goal or second-and-goal from the two-yard line or closer.) They were 2nd in open field tackling.

Those facts may not be true in 2017, having lost a ton of snaps at all three levels of the defense, but your assertion doesn't have much evidence to back it up.

In Bucannon's 2nd & 3rd seasons with the Cardinals, the D was top-5 in yards allowed, top-10 in rushing yards allowed and yards allowed per rush (#3 last year), and top-10 in passing yards allowed and yards allowed per attempt (#3 last year).

I may be getting senile, but i don't recall a lot of teams smashing the ball down the Cards' defense's throat, nor a lot of passes thrown over the top in the last couple of years.

Edit: I see K9 beat me to it!

We have an.offense that can mive the chains and our time if possession was high last season

Antoine Bethea is actually a SS who I would imagine would fill Swearinger's role. I would think Baker and Ty would handle the FS/Nickel CB position one way or another.
