It only took 2 and a half years to crush his spirit. We should see if AZCardinals.com still has his hiring press conference archived so we can all see how coaching this franchise has broken his spirit.

This used to be one of the fiestiest coaches in the NFL.

We took Buddy Ryan, who was an intimidator and he left looking like a befuddled, helpless old man in the early stages of Alzheimer's. We made Dave McGinnis cynical and Vince Tobin stop saying his bedtime prayers.

Sheez. It'll take a brave person, or a fool, to take this job.

I'll try to stay up tonight and post the Fox 10 Sports interview with Tobin. I'm curious what he has to say about Green's situation.

so we brought Emmitt to tears and James to the brink of hysterics. Awesome. You gotta love this team.

I sure do, they've brought me to the brink of hysterics and tears many times. It takes guts to hang in there as a Card fan.

If I knew anything about football, I'd give it a shot. I'll tell you something, the players would hate my guts. Every single one.

the only good moment of the entire game today came when a ridiculously smoking girl walked past me and Ouchie in our Cardinals jerseys, stopped, stared at our Cardinals jerseys, then nodded her head saying, "Hardcore guys. Hardcore."

What I wonder about is why he didn't install the zone-blocking system when he was in Tennessee. Maybe he did, and it wasn't commented on as much for some reason, but I don't remember hearing about that. I'm pretty sure that he didn't do it in New York with Herm Edwards.

Maybe he did run kind of it, but Eddie George was a prototypical power back, not a one-cut guy. I do remember them not having high-profile offensive linemen, so he must have been doing something right.

He didn't go that system either in Tenn or NYJ, of course he wasn't in charge so it may not have been an option.

For a guy who's never been an HC, it's hard to find a better resume, WR coach, OC on 2 different teams, now an assistant HC. If you're going to hire a first time coach you won't find a guy who's been better groomed for the job.

Notice when he was the OC people thought Volek was the QBOF, he leaves, and Volek is ineffective. He had no shot in NY because of the injuries to Pennington.

See, that's the sort of thing that makes all the losing worthwhile...ah, the glory of being a Cardinals fan!!!!!!

That took guts! You guys do stand behind your principles. I'll start taking your negative comments as constructive criticism in the future.

Oh ok, lets bring in Rich Kotite then. What difference does it make, we're doomed.

Wow Rich kotite huh? Show me anywhere at any level that Kotite has had even a sniff of the success that Pete Carrol has had?

Shanahan was a different story, he didn't have any control Davis did.

Carroll has been a coach twice and messed it up both times because he wants to be friends with his players. It works in college, not in the NFL.

Ding Ding Ding Ding.

And Russ continues to prove day in and day out he is the most astute poster on this board.

Uh I wasn't being serious. Kotite might be one of the worst HC's ever.

they were both shown the door as a nfl coach.

So was Bill Belicheck now a 3 time SB winning coach, Mike Shanahan a 2 time SB winning coach, So was Mike Holmgren a 1 time SB winner well you get the point. You guys dont like Carrol and thats fine. But to say he wouldnt be successful if givin another opportunity is speculation at its finest!

I'm starting to think a guy like Marty is our best bet.
I've always wanted Marty to come here, but there's NO WAY he would work for the Bidwills. NO WAY!!! Coaches with that type of success and reputation do not want to be "handcuffed" at this point in their careers.

The Cardinals need to do some homework, and find a young coach who is disciplined in his coaching philosophy, and one who could use the current talent (minus the o-line) within his system while adding pieces...rather than completly rebuilding.

Similar to the Raiders giving Gruden his shot!

And I believe we have one already on board: Pendergast.

Does anybody remember that Frank Bush is "Assistant Head Coach/Linebackers".

If Green gets canned, I'll bet Bush is the coach.
