Expect the other potential 2011 free agents to follow suit: Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, etc. The only one no one's going to pursue is Yao Ming since his career can almost be a tax write off for the Rockets.

I'm not so sure about Parker. If he doesn't get traded I don't think he'll get an extension. I'm interested to see what happens with the potential RFA next year in Oden, Noah and Horford.

Lots of rumors that LeBron will sign with Knicks. That would definitely make life easier on Amare and D'Antoni, especially if they can also get a decent PG.

I sure hope so. I want NY to be relevant again.

Heavy-handed, but I can't say I disagree. Heat are the frontrunners, but New York was back 5 minutes ago, New Jersey in the mix again, Chicago the best place to go, oh wait Cleveland still has the hometown advantage...

As much as the media outlets are responsible for putting out the shallowest of speculation as news, camp LeBron has been teasing the situation for months. And now a TV special? In a way that leads me to believe it's Cleveland--otherwise it just feels way too ugly. But then that's just me.

boy i can't say i disagree with a thing adrian said. tomorrow night is a downright intellectual and emotional fraud.

And it's only fair that the media ***** known as ESPN will be televising this announcement. They and Team Lebron deserve each other. May they rot in, well, wherever they land.

Agreed.

They're pushing that all the money made from televising it will go towards the Boys & Girls Clubs, which is great in theory, but does anyone actually think that's what this is all about? Sounds to me like they're just hiding what it really is--a chance to inflate an already over-inflated ego.

Stan the man can be brash, but I think he hit the nail on the head with this one. It's true, it will take only a few seconds for James to say where he is going...we don't need an hour long ESPN special. I think it's ridiculous and just adding to the already enormous ego that is LBJ. This whole circus is just tarnishing my opinion of James in general.

Damnit. Lebron is setting some pretty low standards for personal conduct and is somehow making Kobe look good in the process. I hate him even more now.

Cap has been set at 58.044mil. Give teams with space nearly an additional 2mil more than expected.

Wow, that's surprising. The Suns could have had some decent room after all, had they not already made their promises to Frye and Warrick. I wonder whether this new number paves the way for a couple of other teams to jump into the fray at the last minute.

Dudley twittered that his inside sources are saying Lebron will sign with the Knicks. If true, I think my favorite east coast team will be the Knicks. Miami vs New York will be fun to watch.

Yeah jumping the gun on those deals is looking even worse. Does give the Suns about 4mil to work with provided they don't S&T Amare.

Lebron is quickly making his way on to my most hated list. I really liked him as a player and a human being prior to this self-aggrandizing free agent soap opera. If he rips the heart out of Cleveland sports fans on live TV, he is a complete douchebag and total cornholio. I can imagine the ESPN cameras cutting to a Cleveland crowd that is assembled to catch their reaction as he mule kicks them in the balls.

Fantastic article by Adrian Warjnowski and he hit the nail on the head when he said this:
James is throwing a few foosball tables at Boys & Girls Clubs, an empty gesture out of the empty superstar. He’s turned free agency into the title of our times, a preening pageant of fawning, begging and pleading. Hard-working people are dragged into municipalities and told to hold signs, chant scripted slogans and beg a diva who doesn’t care about them to accept a $100 million contract.
Probably the most telling fact of where LeBron will decide to play pointed out by Warjnowski:
James never shared that town’s angst with the Browns and Indians. He wanted winners in his life, and rooted for the Dallas Cowboys and New York Yankees.
Also, Wojnarowski forgot to add the Chicago Bulls to Lebron's list of favorite childhood teams who coincidentally happened to be winning title after title with Jordan.

Here is an article from Deadspin about Lebron that I found funny. Warning it is extremely vulgar. Link

All the Suns need is to sign 3 Frye/Warrick type players instead of using the same money to sign Amare.:bang:

FWIW, I heard an NBA guy on ESPN radio, and he was saying Lee is really overrated. His stats are inflated due to playing on such a poor team. He said Lee would be a bench player on a good team. He said Lee wouldn't even play in games for the Lakers or Celtics. Again, it's what someone else said, not me.

That so far is the best article I've read on James....I loved it! And I agree with the writer wholeheartedly.
