Trent Brown wasn't tagged either. I think we should make a play at him. We need all the Oline help we can get

Devin Funchess is the Rob Housler of wide receivers

On another note, I hope the Cardinals are tampering the hell out of their free agent targets at the moment.
He was the Panthers #1 wide out a couple years ago iirc.

Based on stats, I'd take him for #3 money

Take it for what it’s worth, but here are the FAs Gambo floated at ILB and WR3 that the Redbirds plan on talking with:

WR3
Tavon Austin
Phillip Dorsett
Rishard Matthews
Breshaud Perriman

ILB
Kwon Alexander
KJ Wright
CJ Mosley
Jordan Hicks
Brandon Marshall

Apparently they’re not looking for a #1 or #2 with Fitz and Kirk onboard. They like a number of the WRs in the draft and feel they can find depth later 2nd early 3rd.

Of the ILB names, he mentioned that Alexander, Wright, and Mosley will all get big money. Gambo feels Marshall is who they’ll end up with given cost and familiarity with Joseph’s 3-4.

Again, don’t shoot the messenger!

Sounds like we’ll be shopping at Louis Vuitton for LBs and Goodwill for WRs. Of those I personally prefer Dorsett and Hicks. No idea who they like for the OL.

Sign me up for Tavon Austin in Kliff’s offense on an affordable deal...I thought he was under utilized last year in Dallas.

I'll be interested to see who we target on defense. I expect the Cardinals to be ultra aggressive.

I wouldn't mind Austin either, KK offense or not. Rumors sounding like Dallas is trying to get him resigned though so who knows if the Cards want to pony up much more than Dallas.

Peter King seems to think Cards will be big players for Rams FA OG Roger Safford.

Sounds like multiple sources are saying Cardinals will be spending early and often.

However, it seems unlikely we could get Saffold, Mosely, and Suggs. So, someone must be off track but love the rumors so far.

I am wondering if the Cards might try for 1 big splash FA signing (Safford or Houston etc) and several lower signings (Hundley QB,cheaper Dline guys,LBs, etc.Rotational solid guys.

I’d take Saffold if it came down to him or Moseley. There are more affordable ILB’s than him and Saffold is the only OG in upper tier FAs.

I predict no imminent signings today. We will let the big boys sign and set the market. We won’t even inquire for guys like Trent Brown, tyrell Williams, Justin Houston type players. Mosely and Saffold would be awesome but I don’t think that’s going to happen either. Think connections. Randall Cobb I believe will be a Cardinal. Brandon Marshall( lb) will be a Cardinal( I won’t be happy). Have we ever made a splash on day one? Not that I can remember.

Cobb would be a solid signing (even if he did go to Kentucky:shrug:).Good playmaker. He`s got some wear and tear on him though.Still a solid player.

I just hope it's not all ancient stop gap players, otherwise next year, exactly the same

But he is always hurt. He has averaged about 500 yds receiving the last 3 years....and he had Rodgers throwing to him. We can do better.

IMHO the areas that need the most help are Offensive line,Defensive line,Linebacker and WR.
I think TE is okay with the Clay signing ,CB is tolerable with the Alford signing and Brooks Reeds adds veteran depth to LB.Sure wish Cards could find a find to get rid of Gresham.
