Let me start off with one of the big signings.

DeAngelo Hall reached an agreement with the Redskins on a six-year, $54 million deal that includes $22.5 million guaranteed and $30 million in the first three seasons.

Agents Alvin Keels and Joel Segal spent recent weeks negotiating with the Redskins and put the finishing touches on the deal as free agency kicked off.

Not surprised by this move by the Redskins.

Yeah, I knew they liked him, I just didn't know they liked him that much. That's quite a hefty contract.

In other news, Bart Scott and Ray Lewis are both free to test the waters and the Jets fullback was signed to a one year deal.

Edit: NFL Live stopped my heart. They had highlights of Warner and said "The money is finally flowing! ...Kurt is going to be a free agent", for a second there I thought he signed some place.

New Denver head coach Josh McDaniels must have thought running back was his team's most pressing free-agent need.
The Broncos have acquired two up two of them by agreeing to multiyear contracts with Correll Buckhalter (Philadelphia) and J.J. Arrington (Arizona) at the midnight opening of the signing period, FOXSports.com has learned. The deals will become official when both pass physical exams.
Buckhalter can be considered a front-runner for a starting spot, while Arrington is likely to fill a niche as a third-down specialist and kickoff returner.
A backup behind Brian Westbrook for most of his eight seasons in Philadelphia, the 30-year-old Buckhalter has battled back from knee injuries that forced him to miss the 2002, 2004 and 2005 campaigns. Buckhalter started two games in 2008 and finished the season with 369 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 76 attempts. He also is an effective receiver coming out of the backfield.
Arrington never fulfilled the expectations that came with being Arizona's second-round draft pick in 2005. But he did start three games for the 2008 Cardinals team that reached Super Bowl XLIII. Arrington tallied 432 combined yards from scrimmage (rushing and receiving) and averaged 25.6 yards on kickoff returns with one touchdown.
Denver finished last season with seven running backs on injured reserve.

Fred Taylor is likely to sign a contract with the Patriots, maybe meaning another team that will pass on RB?

Fullback Tony Richardson signed a one-year deal with the Jets just before the stroke of midnight would have made him a free agent, said a source close to negotiations

That part of the statement is very important. He's very young and his best years could be ahead of him. He has importance as STs and as a receiving RB as well.

Ravens linebacker Bart Scott received an invitation to visit the Jets after not reaching a deal with the Ravens Friday morning. The Jets called after midnight and tried to convince him to come to their facility Friday morning. According to a source, he said he would let them know in the morning. He is still considering a $7.5 million a year deal from the Ravens.

Steelers guard Chris Kemoeatu went to bed early Friday morning trying to decide between a $4 million a year offer from the Steelers and the New York Jets. The Steelers had hoped to sign Kemoeatu, who is considered one of the top guards on the market, before free agency. The Jets called after midnight and made him a strong offer.

The Saints opened negotiations with middle linebacker Jonathan Vilma Friday morning, but the rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers checked in with a post midnight phone call expressing their interest. A clause in the trade agreement between the Saints and the Jets would have forced the Saints to give up first round pick if Vilma agreed to a contract extension before the start of free agency. The Jets received a third-round pick for Vilma, but a pre-free agency extension would have forced the Saints to give up a second. The Saints had given their second to the Giants in the Jeremey Shockey trade. That would have forced the Saints to give the Giants a first.

The Bills began the search for a replacement for guard Derrick Dockery by setting up a Friday visit for Panthers guard Geoff Hangartner. The Bills released Dockery on Thursday. He was entering the third year of a seven-year, $49 million contract

Update to the JJ story.

The Broncos were one of the most active teams setting up visits at the beginning of free agency. They were able to get commitments for visits on Friday by Dolphins safety Renaldo Hill, Cardinals halfback J.J. Arrington and Eagles halfback Correll Buckhalter. No deals were done in advance of those visits.

Then there's still time! Offer him something to stay.
