Suh would be a MONSTER at 3-4 DE. An expensive monster with character issues, but man, he would crush it for us.
Yes. Suh would be a DE not a NT in Arizona. However, I doubt Detroit lets him walk.

I don't think they'll go for Orakpo unless it's on the cheap. Iupati and Worilds are likely targets.

Iupati, yes. Worils, please no. No, no, no!
I wouldn't hate it if they didn't go after Worilds either. He plays the same position as Okafor and not sure if he's an upgrade.

A healthy Orakpo would be nice but can he stay healthy?

My top three players to go after would be Justin Houston, Adrian Peterson and Julius Thomas. One of those as my splash player then for the o-line Wisniewski, Iupoti or Orlando Franklin. Keim will find a player or two for a prove it deal and then we draft whatever else we need.

Worilds will definitely be brought in. He's a Steeler and that's what this team does. Bring in Steelers.

I think 2 interior OL will definitely be brought in, Iupati or Franklin and a center. I think the Cards know they have to put a lot into making sure Palmer is protected or they have no chance. I could even see them bringing all 3 in if they lack confidence in Cooper. However, I think they give Cooper a good shot a claiming the LG position. Franklin play RG in Denver but has Iupati played it in SF? Maybe they move Cooper to RG and go with Veldheer and Iupati on the left side.

sendlein has to take a pay cut or will be released
powers was our best cb last season but they should try to extend him in order to lower his cap hit

considerind dead money actually the team is $11,648,395 under the cap

5 mil are for rookies contract

i think they need other 9 mil of cap room so keim could be aggressive as he claimed
they can free up with
lorenzo alexander 1.4 __ dont get why he still on the roster
sendlein 3 mil
carlson 1 mil
redo powers ,campbell and daryl washington contract

Just some names I expect to hear us attached to. Like them or not. I wouldn't hate a long term solution at C. Hudson will be more expensive than Wisneiwski IMO. Iupati probably gives us the biggest bang for the buck.

Worilds is 265 so fits in terms of size, and is a pass rush by committee guy. He is a 8 - 12 sack guy in a good defense IMO. Same can be projected for Okafor. Same for Campbell. Same for an atheltic ILB in this defense. That recipe can work, and is more projectable when you factor in how rare top edge rushers are to find.

I think Dan Williams will be back.A veteran CB (Patrick Robinson for 3 years) and a veteran LB like Dan Skuta (fairly cheap veteran backup).Maybe a cheap veteran C-G type.LS Leach.Thats it.

That is a complete pipe dream.

No way the Cardinals are spending $16M a year on a DT/DE in free agency.

a. They don't have the cap space
b. They have bigger holes to fill

wonder if there's any way to get BOTH AP and Suh. If Washington only gets two games and we basically add the best RB, DT in the game and one of the best ILBs... that would be insane.

That's just crazy talk. No way the Cardinals could afford 2 future HoFs. Just ain't going to happen.

It's an interesting question and I have no clue. Wouldn't be surprised at all if it's AP frankly. Would love Suh even more.

I think this orginization is going all in, all chips on the table. Then they're taking off watches and rings and iPhones and everything they own and putting it on the pile.

I couldn't disagree more.

This team is being built for the long term! They have a capologist who is managing the cap several years down the road. They are not "going all in".

They will be active in FA but won't be chasing the big names on day one like many teams. Instead they will find bargains after other teams blow their wads on the "big names" the first few days of FA.

So, I get the reasoning behind signing Suh, and I think it would be an understandable move, long term. I don't believe it will happen, but having that tandem at DE in base, DT in nickel could be special. That being said, it limits what other positions you are going to be able to spend on. Campbell, Suh, and Peterson are probably your only big defensive contracts, and you are probably only paying LT and QB on offense.

I would be for it. I don't believe it will happen.

Keep in mind that San Francisco runs a man-blocking scheme with an emphasis on the OL winning at the point of attack with defined targets. We tended to use a zone-blocking scheme in support of Ellington last year and have expressed a philosophical preference for a power running scheme that pulls a lot of guards and the center.

I know that Iupati is a RG, but I don't recall him working around the edge or out in space often, if at all.

What size offer sheet would it take to sign Houston? He's certainly worth the two first rounders, IMO.

good organizations sure don't. if this was the old Cardinals, the Dockett cut/Williams negotiations would have this place in COMPLETE MELTDOWN mode. Now, people are salivating at the idea of getting super stars to put us in the Super Bowl... BECAUSE we believe that's actually part of the plan.

It's awesome to be in this place with this team after all these years.

Amen brother.

Ummm agree to disagree? Palmer 2 years and done. Bunch of dead money pushed back on Fitz after 2 years. Wont restructure dockett. BA is old brother.

This will be the 2 most glorious year in Cardinal history IMO. Or so I hope. I think the moves will be there.

My guess is Worldis, AP, and a trade in the draft for someone they covet.

Michael Bidwill and Steve Keim are running this team now. NOTHING they have said suggests that they are going "all in" this season. In every interview they emphasize sustained success for many years to come.

If you just base it off previous contracts for OLB...

Clay Matthews got 5 years/$66M with $20.5M GTD (2013)
Tamba Hali got 5 years/$57.5M with $35M GTD (2011)

Recent deal:

Junior Galette got 4 years/$41.5M with $23M GTD (2014)

You'd have to figure Houston stands to potentially make more than any of those guys.
