Keep in mind that San Francisco runs a man-blocking scheme with an emphasis on the OL winning at the point of attack with defined targets. We tended to use a zone-blocking scheme in support of Ellington last year and have expressed a philosophical preference for a power running scheme that pulls a lot of guards and the center.

I know that Iupati is a RG, but I don't recall him working around the edge or out in space often, if at all.
I'm almost positive he has been the LG and Boone the RG. But I get your point. Cooper, if he ever shows he can play, will be the main guy to pull.

Ok, but if you are going to pay a guy what Iupati is projected to make, you are paying more as an athlete and less as a system fit. If Iupati isn't skilled enough to fit in either scheme, he shouldn't be paid like a top OG (which I believe he will).

Around The NFL @AroundTheNFL
Potential suitors for DeMarco Murray, per @RapSheet on Total Access: Colts, Cardinals, Jaguars, Seahawks (if Lynch does retire).

Obviously this is just a report like the Peterson thing but it seems like the cards want to address running back in FA.

I don't see the Cards as players for Murray. Costs to much and not sure if he was just a product of Cowboys outstanding offensive line. Would rather use money for OLB/ILBs & C/OG. Get RB in draft or cheaper one in free agency.

That is a complete pipe dream.

No way the Cardinals are spending $16M a year on a DT/DE in free agency.

a. They don't have the cap space
b. They have bigger holes to fill

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't suggesting we should sign him. I thought I added that little caveat to my post, but I hadn't :)

I agree. I'm leery of his effectiveness outside of Dallas.

Can Jerry Hughes play OLB? Personally I feel he is best suited for a 4-3 DE and busted out in IND because they had him at OLB and it didn't work. Am I mistaken? BUF didn't franchise him but rumor has it he wants to return and they are working to get a contract done before the start of FA. If ARZ feels he can play OLB, I think he is a player they could be trying to sign. He's only 26 so he is still in his prime.

If Dallas is only offering him ~4m a year, that isn't that much.

I'm hoping to bring in Orakpo and another 1-2 guys, rather than a huge splash like Houston/Peterson.

Why would you spend money on a guy that has torn a peck three times, (two of the last three years)?

Don't you only have 2 pecs? That means he doesn't have anymore to tear :D.
