Davis/Hudson for Diaw/Banks/Pike

Here is my reasoning:

And I said (to myself): "Hell, if you like Diaw so much, we'll just give you Shawn, Diaw, Banks and Pike for KG and call it a day".

I'd be willing to pee down both legs in public for this trade, but it probably wouldn't work cap-wise, would it?

The Wolves RealGM board is known for being a step ahead in the rumor mill and inside scoops. Posting some random guy's trade idea here gets people way too excited before they open the thread, and only lets them down once they read it. By posting this youre ripping the scab off a wound that hasnt fully healed, if only by triggering thoughts of leaks and rumors we read there just weeks before.

As for the trade, not going to happen, and im too jaded from previous Twolves trade ideas to not even bother discussing it.

Gosh, and here I was thinking that this was a place where people went to shoot the breeze and share interesting things.

I'm sorry, YJGS, that I've harmed your spirit. And thanks for the stern talking-to you gave me to set me straight.

You're new. Go back a few pages of threads to where we a thread with close to 50 pages on the KG subject and others in the 20s. There is a lot of burnout on the subject.

Come on. It's basketball trade rumors. Everyone needs to stop taking themselves so seriously.

To bad there isn't an easy solution to being burnt out on a topic, like not reading it or something...

That initial trade he posted is horrible for PHX....Banks, Diaw, Pike for Ricky Davis & Troy Hudson......Sure we save some salary, but we lose the only backup PF on our roster and don't get anything to replace him. Plus I'm still hoping Diaw has a bounce back year and gets back to the most improved player Diaw.

i dont see how this can turn into a "if you like Diaw so much" thread. going from Diaw for an expiring contract to Diaw/Marion for KG is a HUGE stretch and not really worth talking about....especially when the original "rumor" is just some dude's made up idea.

and i think KG to the suns is pretty much over.....and had no real chance of happening. ESPN blew the whole idea out of proportion to boost their Draft ratings. that's it.

I think ESPN did blow it out of proportion, but I think they had help. I get the feeling that the Wolves FO planted a lot of seeds to see if they could get something to grow. I do not believe the "leaks" came from the Suns, though I know a lot people still think they did.

One example of how weird things go was when Kupcake said that he thought they were "close" to a deal sending Kuwame Brown for Shawn Marion. I supsect many of the KG "close" rumors were of the same categy.

yeah there were a lot of pseudo leaks that are most likely brought up every year just so teams can take the temperature on certain trade ideas

sports, celebrities, government, all do this regularly

I still guess that the Phoenix Suns organization understated the trade discussions as much as ESPN blew them out of proportion. And please don't give me this crap about the local media knowing so much more than the national media. The difference is that the local media nose and says exactly what the Phoenix Suns want them to know and say.

Fixed

I've heard the Suns provide a nice buffet for the media at every game.

Taylor: Garnett wants to stay with Timberwolves
SHOOTER CHARLEY WALTERS
Pioneer Press

Article Last Updated: 07/17/2007 12:10:40 AM CDT

The Timberwolves kept star Kevin Garnett apprised of trade inquiries before the recent NBA draft, but Garnett expressed a preference to remain in Minnesota.

"His preference was that we not trade him," Wolves owner Glen Taylor said.

Speaking publicly for the first time since the draft, Taylor said Monday, a day after returning from a three-week honeymoon in China, that he never sought to trade Garnett, 31, but for the first time decided to listen more seriously to what teams had to offer.

"In the past, teams had asked me, and I just said, 'No, we're not interested,' " Taylor said. "But this time, I was going to be more involved and said we probably should just see if something makes sense for us.
"I talked to K.G. about it; I said, 'You're going to hear a lot of (rumors) stuff, but I'll call you if something really happens.' I just asked him (about a trade), and he'd say, 'No, I haven't changed my mind.'

"I said, 'We're probably going to bring in (top draft pick Corey) Brewer with one more young guy, so you've got young guys, and you're going to have a younger team.' And he said, 'I don't think I mind playing with those guys.'

"In the end, nothing really happened."
The Wolves will continue to discuss trade scenarios, Taylor said, but they won't include Garnett.
