In case some of you were not watching..Emmitt Smith was interviewed briefly by Cheryl Miller during the Suns telecast Thursday night... She started off saying something like - sounds wierd saying emmitt smith of the AZ Cardinals..and Emmitt said: Get used to it...

Anyway..main point - I thought emmitt said he would be back in a couple of weeks - I thought he said 2 weeks - but with all of the noise in the background it was hard to determine exactly what he said.. FYI...

Big celebrity night at the Suns game, Randy Johnson, emmitt, Lebron james playing for Cavs...and a few NASCAR guys in town for the PIR race this weekend... I doubt there are many crossover fans between NASCAR and the NBA - but they interviewed jeff gordon (same network will carry race at PIR)...Is NASCAR a sport:D

Yeah, I heard 2 weeks, too. He also said he wanted to try and get back sooner than that if its possible. Maybe he was just being optimistic, but it's possible Emmitt could be back sooner than we thought... and Shipp will be tossed in the background once again.

I think his point is that he is with the Cards now and for them to stop living in the past.

I see him out during practice and he seems to be putting a lot of effort into working with Shipp, Anderson and Scobey.

Damien said the same thing. That Emmitt is working hard at helping Marcel and him.

I see a guy who is committed to helping the Cards in anyway he can, at least as far as his attiude. Would that change if Shipp statred over him, only time will tell, but for now he appears to be focused on being a team player.

I hate Jeff Gordon. But, there are a lot of younger NASCAR drivers who are into basketball. The "sport" is changing a lot now that it is more mainstream and many of the drivers are younger.

Nice to hear Emmitt saying "get used to it." A real team player. Can't believe he will be back in 2 weeks.

I actually agree. Have you ever ridden in one of those machines? I went three laps at Atlanta and was wiped out. Those cars take a lot outta ya.

If golf is a sport, well, it isn't, so nevermind. :)

Nascar is a sport, not my favorite form of auto-racing but a sport nontheless. I prefer open wheel racing the best. I raced Karts as a kid on up through high school then moved to motocross. Thats where is at!!!

NASCAR is not a sport. It doesn't fit any of the criteria of a sport.

Anyway, Pinnacle: I can't believe that you didn't point out that Cheryl Miller kept saying "Phoenix Cardinals".

sport

1. An activity involving physical exertion and skill that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often undertaken competitively.
An active pastime; recreation.

So, NASCAR is a sport. So is golf, so is horse racing, etc. They just are sports that are not very interesting to me. Personally, given a choice of those three, I'd put NASCAR at the bottom of the list.

If NASCAR is a sport then so is street racing, boat racing, drag racing, Monster Truck Rallies, and all those other stupid races. They like NASCAR is a driving competition.
