They said a 'source' told them the reason banks doesnt play is because they dont like how small they are on the court when he and barbosa are out there at the same time. Since barbosa commands a large amount of minutes there is very little time allowed for him to even show his worth
While its better than no reason at all, it still lacks solid logic. With bell out the last couple days, I cannot fathom why putting him in at the 2 when barbosa is resting is not an option, let alone experimenting with his leadership when we are up by 20.
And while he does make us smaller, he is faster, stronger, and better defensively than nash. If the small issue is over the 1-2 inches nash has over him I still don't buy it, not to mention we ARE small, play well small, and got smaller this offseason.
Dantoni made the choice to pay him a ridiculous salary, and now he is shooting himself in the foot with a silly reason for not putting the guy with a ridiculous salary to good use. It just makes it look like he doesnt think ahead or make rational decisions. He may be a great coach in the aspect that he can put together a system that works great, is entertaining, and wins a lot, but with the amount of questionable decisions, the constant complaining on the sideline (which definitely reduces his credibility with the refs), and overall stubbornness he displays during gametime, I keep finding too many shortcomings in his day to day actions.
I thought banks showed improvement in the preseason and over summer, but I just cant get my mind around the logic of keeping a guy we want to trade on the bench.
Thoughts?
