Id like to see him coming out of training camp with a healthy team around him. Let him compete for the starting QB.

I said it 3 weeks ago and was laughed at. Stanton gives us a better chance to win. No tds in 10 quarters and one in the last 12.
You’re not wrong. Gabbert is still the depleted QB from Jacksonville who’s another first-round bust.

To give people here the benefit of the doubt, fans want the QBoF on the roster now, even if it’s the wrong QB. People saw an average game against the Texans and convinced themselves he was it. He’s gotten progressively worse after each game and today, had a John Skelton-type game.

I’m leaning towards letting him walk and hoping Palmer comes back while Keim drafts the potential QBoF.

He is a more athletic Stanton and probably the ‘new’ Stanton if he re-signs with us. He will probably play better being in the system another year and without a 3rd string roster, but this is his ceiling.

This is his ceiling? Really? Give me a break more time in BAs offense and a training camp where he can actually get more snaps isn’t going to help right? Playing with some WRs who can catch and having DJ in the backfield will be no help right? How about even an average Oline? None of those things help? This is his ceiling right now? Come on man that’s just plain silly.

Not true. I felt he would be an acceptable backup QB, but he’s getting progressively worse.

C'mon TJ, you have been skewing him all along just like the selection of ASU's football coach. ;)

Week by week regression:
22-34 257 3 td 2 int against Hou(25)
22-38 241 2 tds 1 int against Jax(1)
18-32 221 1 td 2 int against LAR(9)
17-26 178 0 td 0 int against TEN (21)
16-41 189 0 td 1 int against Was(16)

Teams have his film and week by week he’s gotten worse against worse opponents.

Gabbert has no instincts, no touch and really bad footwork. I want to see a completely different QB room next season. A new coaching staff might be nice too. Enough is enough.

Yep five whole starts in BAs system time to move on...:sarcasm:

With the all star line up he’s playing with it’s Hard to believe he’s not undefeated!

Slow your roll man...his ceiling is a more athletic Stanton, good backup who needs help to win.

So in other words we don’t know his ceiling since he hasn’t had time in this system honestly. It’s premature is all I’m saying. But lots of QB gurus on here already know. But I’m sure whatever young QB the Cards draft will thrive from the jump in BAs system. It’s just unrealistic to expect much right now with almost zero weapons and blocking and consistent pressure.

That makes no sense. He’s progressively gotten worse Week by week. It has nothing to do with his experience in the offense when he was better at the beginning of it. Opponents have tape of him and he’s not playing well. The word adjustments is thrown around a lot on this board and Gabbert doesn’t make any adjustments in his game, which isn’t good.

Let him walk. No one will sign him anyway. He'll be there if they are desperate enough to brig him back sometime during next year.
