I know that Gollin and others are going to be amped about his size
If you review the various threads on this board, you will find that I have ALWAYS balanced my awe of Watson's physical talent with deep concerns about his work ethic.
If you're going to put words in my mouth, I'd prefer that you get them right.
I hope the following will remove any ambiguity - As of now, my NT sentiments lean heavily toward our winding up with three quality players (because all you hear is how 320+ lb guys wear down and tail off in games). You need to rotate NT's to keep them fresh. One NT won't do it.
Russell Davis could be one of the three - but preferably he should represent the least talented of the bunch and not the most.
The two guys in the draft that interest me most are Bunkley (who, in addition to being outstanding in games, showed he was strong enough to play NT by pumping out 40 reps at the Combine) and Dvoracek (who's a blue collar guy - a larger and more athletic version of Kolodzeij). Both weigh around 305-310.
One other interesting NT tidbit- Buzz last night from Jay Glazer suggests that Cards are interested in the "Kemoteau Dragon" (the guy who plays DT for the Ravens).
The important thing is that we not settle for "adequate" nose tackles but shoot for guys who are so immovable that other teams won't even consider running against us inside.
Of the big guys - Watson is a "huge upside/scary downside" risk. (Cards aren't good enough to have the luxury of picking a risky player at #10). I feel the same way about Ngata only to a somewhat lesser extent - his press clippings exceed what I've seen on game-tape. The other really big 320+ lb guys represent mid to late round question-marks we might want to get lucky with.
That's a far cry from "getting amped" on Watson's size.
