Listened to first 30 min of Gambo today. He seems fairly convinced based on whatever inside info he has that Keim is looking to trade down and collect picks.

Gambo stated that it would've taken at minimum this year's 1, 2, and both 3s along with next year's 1 and 2 to even get remotely close to where the Top-4 QBs will be chosen. Gambo said that the Cards would swap firsts and take on another 3rd, but to me, that sounds like us getting fleeced, so I don't buy it.

Also alluded that the Cards will definitely take a QB in the draft, and it sounds like Keim has his eye on Lauletta Day 2.

Well it makes sense. They have too many pressing needs still. It is a viable option. Just as long as they get another 2nd for doing so.

I think Lauletta is a damn good QB and would not see it as scraping the bottom of the barrel in the least but we better not play the dummy and allow someone to scoot in front of us and take him... I have heard multiple accounts that the Patriots like him a lot

if Keim drafts Lauletta in the second he needs to be terminated immediately..... our compensatory third would be an appropriate pick...regular third if they are really sold on the kid
Keim always makes bone-headed moves in the draft that should get him fired immediately, so just get ready for the inevitable!

I find it hilarious in some way. The kid is a fourth to fifth round pick...every year... but the rumor gets out that Billy B likes him...and suddenly some people are even suggesting we draft him at 15...LMAO... because Belechick sprinkled him with some dehydrated Tom Brady sweat at the senior bowl and suddenly the kid is going to be a hall of famer

This is exactly why the Cards winning a SB under Keim is unlikely to happen imo.

I used to believe in him & each passing season he approaches the QB position like it doesn’t matter has made me question his knowledge & importance of the position :bang:

all fine and dandy and could be true, but what self respecting person would tell gambo anything of importance? he's got a big mouth, no way SK would want that info getting out. i suspect he's working off a hunch

I think all local sports teams use Gambo to get company talking points to public. That why he gets a brownie now and then. To his credit he did tell they were high on Budda Baker last year.

A lot of fans here want a QB under the draft Christmas tree. Unfortunately I think we got two retreads as our QB and QBOTF in Bradford and Glennon.

Those two plus the value of keeping our picks may out weigh one of the QBs in this draft minus the many picks it would take to get that QB.

That's not a big splash move---but it fits SK's MO as a GM. Trade down for picks, stock the OL and DL.

Plenty of cap space next year to restock/rebuild the roster. Hope that one of our second-hand QBs pans out.

SW and SK have four years to make it work.

No one gets four years to turn it around. The season ticket demands already dipped after pre 2016 and 2017. Three is Max I think

I truly think Keim likes him as a starting QB

Had Palmer retired last year Keim would’ve given him more than Chicago did. Keep in mind Glennon got nearly 20 mil for 4 starts and he’s still hitting their cap this year.

My guess is that Arizona selects a QB in the third round. That way, everyone who wants Jackson (he goes late first) or Rudolph (early second) can kill SK for not drafting a QB at #15. :)

I’m fine with trading down this year... We just don’t have the inventory needed to get ourselves in position to grab one of the top 3/4 QB prospects this year. It’s just not in the “cards” this year. So I would actually applaud Keim if he could work a solid trade that would net us another late second/early 3rd rounder... while also keeping a first round slot as well - albeit a likely very late first rounder...

I just dont see Jackson being drafted by Az. Even though I want him here. If Keim thinks he could find the next Russell Wilson, Carr or Garappollo in the 2nd and 3rd round respectively and develop them to a good qb, then he's sorely mistaken. Those are exceptions, not the rule. Get the qb in the first round. If Lamar or Rudolph is there and they see him as a good qb, then take him.
