That late first and Morris ended up being Chriss.

Hard to say how that one will work out.

It's good to know the Suns got something positive out of the Markieff Morris trade and obtaining another PF with star potential no less.

I am pretty sure Hornacek had some input on getting Knight. At least Hornacek was the one promoting this style of backcourt all the time.

Knight has been a disappointment here, he's definitely not who he was in Milwaukee the year we acquired him but it's kind of humorous to see how many people were totally fine or happy that IT was traded for virtually nothing in return.

You're right. I admit that my memory was wrong about that. I'm pretty sure that I started complaining about the Thomas trade soon afterward, but I didn't track down the thread.

Yeah I was wrong here. Knight started regressing the moment we traded for him

Yeah but that was mostly due to injury. He played pretty well for us for a very short while early last season until defenses started basically doubling off of our front court players, at which time both he and Bledsoe disappeared. And since then, as a backup at the 1 or the 2, he's been laughably bad.

Many reasoned that we got a first round pick for nothing since Thomas was a cheap free agent signing. NO ONE intimated he would produce what he is now producing in Boston. If they say they did, they are lying.

That is interesting. Are you suggesting that our poor front court was a major part of BK's decline?

Our problem right now is that we really do not have a consistent front court scoring threat. Once we add that, I believe everyone will be more efficient.

Absolutely, just as was the case for Bledsoe and Goran the season before. Without a stretch big, and with such an offensively challenged front-court, all of our penetrate first guards were handcuffed. We were at out best when Bledose, Goran and Thomas played together the year before but without that 3rd scorer all of our guards suffered. Last season, we had no 3rd scorer and they could zone down low and send the extra man to the strong side.

That's truly scary to think about. Imagine Knight and Bledsoe being the starting backcourt for multiple seasons.

And I'll give BC (if he still posts here) credit for calling it on the starting two combo guard lineup. He was against it from the start and wanted the Suns to get a traditional SG and many, many here including myself at times disagreed with him vehemently.
Thanks, sunsfan. I'm still here. Reading every post. And learning from them. I just don't post as often. And I watch portions of games.

Although Bledsoe has had a couple of good games recently, he is not a skilled Point Guard and does not make the rest of the team better. And Knight ... no comment necessary. Our best facilitator is small by NBA standards and plays irregularly. Our 2nd best facilitator is our best Shooting Guard and should continue to develop at his natural position. The Suns are dysfunctional.
