According to him the Phoenix Suns have narrowed their choices down to the following.

Johan Petro
http://www.nbadraft.net/profiles/johanpetro.asp

Ryan Gomes
http://www.nbadraft.net/profiles/ryangomes.asp

Mickaël Gelabale
http://www.nbadraft.net/profiles/mickaelgelebale.asp

Wayne Simeon
http://www.nbadraft.net/profiles/waynesimien.asp

Nate Robinson
http://www.nbadraft.net/profiles/naterobinson.asp

Gambo said he is leaning towards them taking Petro right now. he said Nate Robinson would be a surprise pick (obviously), but he would be a good pick. I would really like the Phoenix Suns to get either Robinson or Salim, but there are guys I would rather have at #21. If they took Robinson at #21 they better be damn sure he's going to be the next Earl Boykins.

He also said they really like Gomes, and they are bringing them in for another workout tomorrow.

Gambo also sounded quite sure that the Phoenix Suns would not take Ike at #21. He said there's a good chance that Ike won't be there anyways, but they aren't going to take him if he is.

Take it for what it's worth... it's Gambo.

gomes and gelabale . . . fech.

I have no problem with Gomes, but I don't really want neither of the French guys.

I really don't understand Wayne Simeon over Ike Diogu. I'll puke if they make that mistake. In fact they better not take any power forward that will be available at #21 over Diogu. The knock I heard from his Phoenix workout regarding Diogu was that he is not explosive enough. Wayne Simeon registered just a 27.5" vertical in Chicago.

If somebody on the Suns fed Gambo that list...

...then they really did lose this year's pick in the Q trade.

On the ESPN board someone mentioned that Gambo also talked about Sarunas Jasikevicius. What do you guys know about him?

This list came from office toilet paper, and confirmed after the wipe.

Gambo's List

3 of the 5 guys on his list are most likely 2nd round draft choices with Petro and Simien going in the 1st round. Where in the hell did he come up with this list?

Although I do believe that if Petro is there at 21 the Suns may take him.

I voted "other" for the Suns selection the other day on the Board's mock draft and actually named Nate Robinson as their selection but I was assuming neither Ike or Jack were on the board at #21. I thought the Suns might want to move back a few notches for an additional second round pick and a later number #1 this year or a #1 next year.

I never thought the Suns would consider Nate Robinson with their 21st pick and in fact they may be considering moving down in the draft or trading it under a scenario described above.

I certainly hope our 21st pick is not part of the proposed Q trade unless we're switching some picks with NY. Perhaps this is where the "conditional" pick somehow is intertwined with Nate or another player.

If the team gets Kurt Thomas, Nate Robinson then would turn into a solid Pick, along with Roko Leni-Ukic (for the International Prospects)... wasn't Nate Robinson 1 of the best athletes in last years Combine? Is last years workouts, at this site?

he's a free agent. looking to come over and RUN a team. doubt he'd sign with us w/ nash on board. he's not draftable.

he's a stud now. played on maccabee tel aviv at some point. also played at maryland, but wasn't much coveted coming outta college.

Robinson would be a good pick. Then Barbosa can play the 2 behind JJ.

There are good guard prospects where the Suns pick. every draft there are some good ones who fall. (T. Parker, Cassel) ect.

Nate Robinson was the best athlete in last year's combine. He really does play just like Boykins. The difference is he's about 4 inches taller and much, much stronger. I still think #21 is a little too early, but if he's the guy they really want I wouldn't be devastated. I would still rather have Diogu, Garcia, or even Ryan Gomes.

I hope they trade down 5 or more spots & take Nate Robinson.

But I wouldnt be angrey if they just took him at 21 to make sure they got him.

He would add a new demention to this team because he can fullcourt press the ball and put alot of pressure on the other teams PG. He would wear out the other teams PG while Nash sits on the bench. Also lets Barbosa play the 2 behind both the JJ's pluss he can still do some point incase of injuries( :stick: )

I think its a great fit.

the lastest mock from expressdraft.com shows roko falling to memphis at 19. i dont think that they would take him there. if he were there when we pick i would love to see the suns take him. he sounds a lot like nash without the outside shot yet.

i really think we are going to get petro.

Why oh why does anyone take what Gambo says as Gospel?

I don't think anyone is really taking it as gospel. Is just something more to talk about. I can't stand listening to him. Yesterday was the first time in about six months. I only did it because I was waiting for more information on the trade, and they were having several interesting interviews (Hunter, Salim, and Simien).

Nate Robinson would be an interesting pick just because he's a bowling bowl. He's kind of a shorter Mitch Ritchmond the way he's built. I'm betting he's going to be a better defender at the next level than he is in college, just because he's so freakin' strong and quick. However, he does come with some baggage. Let's just say he's not the kind of guy you would expect Colangelo to draft.

Robinson would be a pretty big reach at 21. While he's more likely to stick than some of the guys picked ahead of him, I'm not sure it would be good value. If this is who they like, they should trade down a few and see if they can get another second rounder or a future second rounder.

I am beginning to think that Gambo knows more than some think about the suns and who they are going to draft.

Is anybody listening to him today?

If Robinson is really who they want then they could try to get Utah to trade us the #27 and #34 picks for our #21. According to NBADraft's mock, we'd be able to get Blatche at 27 and be able to get Robsinson with the 34.

Smokescreen, Ike is their man, I would not mind getting Robinson if they could some how pick up a late 1st or early 2nd to get him

To me, that would be a great draft, particularly if we still had #57 to grab a project at. Blatche has a lot of upside, and could be Amare lite. Robinson would be a great piece for us to relieve Nash and provide some serious scoring off the bench. I'm sure that he would be a crowd favorite, particularly when he threw down a JJ oop pass in front of the fans at AWA.
