Does it mean that Marte is starting at SS and Ahmed has a day off?

2 out of every 3 games they have a boneheaded little league play like that.
Veterans too. Either Flores or Marte should have been at second base.
Maybe if the Manager wouldn't play musical chairs with his infield and
outfield positions, second nature would play a greater role.
And now we're seeing more and more sloppy fielding. Changes not
only from game to game but inning to inning. If it weren't happening,
we wouldn't be talking about it.
Torey's 'innovative' approach could either fly high or bomb. 'Looks
like it's bombing. And leaves a short bench for later in the games.
I call it the "huff & puff" approach. "I must be a good manager. Look
how many changes I'm making!" Putting 'style' over 'substance'.
When I got home and turned on the game seeing us down 4-0, I saw
Escobar leading off the inning. Mired in a deep slump. The left side
of the infield was wide open. Did he slap a hit to LF to start a rally?
No! He hit it right into the shift for an easy out. And the next batter
hit a deep fly ball for an easy 2nd out. Even if he hit a HR, when you
are down by 4, that is not starting a rally.
I guess that is what baseball has become. Go for the individual glory,
rather than the victory. I think it sucks!
If Torey wants to be innovative, take advantage of situations. Lay
down the law to his team. We're here to win. .500 is not winning.
