This shows two 2B starting for the D-backs and no SS.

Does it mean that Marte is starting at SS and Ahmed has a day off?

EDIT: Actually, it does, per Yahoo Sports.

If marte were to go down. This team would be put in such a tough position. He does so much, not just offensively but defensively

2 out of every 3 games they have a boneheaded little league play like that.

Veterans too. Either Flores or Marte should have been at second base.

The Freight Train is more like Thomas the Train lately.

Maybe if the Manager wouldn't play musical chairs with his infield and
outfield positions, second nature would play a greater role.

And now we're seeing more and more sloppy fielding. Changes not
only from game to game but inning to inning. If it weren't happening,
we wouldn't be talking about it.

Torey's 'innovative' approach could either fly high or bomb. 'Looks
like it's bombing. And leaves a short bench for later in the games.

I call it the "huff & puff" approach. "I must be a good manager. Look
how many changes I'm making!" Putting 'style' over 'substance'.

When I got home and turned on the game seeing us down 4-0, I saw
Escobar leading off the inning. Mired in a deep slump. The left side
of the infield was wide open. Did he slap a hit to LF to start a rally?

No! He hit it right into the shift for an easy out. And the next batter
hit a deep fly ball for an easy 2nd out. Even if he hit a HR, when you
are down by 4, that is not starting a rally.

I guess that is what baseball has become. Go for the individual glory,
rather than the victory. I think it sucks!

If Torey wants to be innovative, take advantage of situations. Lay
down the law to his team. We're here to win. .500 is not winning.

Here's what pisses me off about Torey. Your only offense yesterday was C. Kelly and he's on the bench tonight. But then you have Escobar swinging at anything out there again tonight instead of giving him a night off to get rest. Or you have A. Jones who has basically sucked the 2nd half playing again, instead of giving locastro a shot, who we know creates problems for teams.
You then are playing the best team and decide to give your best defender Ahmed the night off, instead of waiting till Colorado who is begging teams to beat them coming up. That would be a great time to give him time off.

Honestly, Torey irritates the heck out of me and the guy ends up outsmarting himself more than not. Let players get in grooves. When is the last time, you've really heard of a Dback get crazy hot?

You and I are too old school. We came up in an age where you hit it where the pitcher throws it. Now doesn't matter where it is pitched...trying to pull it out of the the park. This is why the shift exists. Everyone is trying to pull it.

It doesn't matter what is coached or expected...pull it and try to drive it out of the park. Baseball had changed.
