He hasn't had one good inning in a very long time.

Will Smith, the Giants closer, is in to pitch with a 2-run lead.

He is a lefty.

Flores with another HR. 1-run game. No one out.

We turned on a ball game and watched a home run
hitting contest.

The lefty Rojas strikes out for the first out.

Then Ahmed ties it with a home run.

Are you kidding me?!?

10 total HRs and not even playing at Coors Field.

Carson Kelly grounds out.

Avila coming up to pinch hit
against the lefty with two outs.

Last position player available.

And he strikes out.

'Going to the 11th.

Why in the world would you put in Avila there, unless he was the only other option left..

Edit: he was the only one left.

Yup, last position player available.

We don't have our best pinch hitter, Greinke, any more. :)

Yaz, Jr., Jr. with his 3rd HR. Grandpa hit 3 in a
game once in his career.

18 of 19 runs scored by both teams are by HR's.

Giants lead 10-9 with no outs.

Now a runner on 1st and he is sacrificed to 2B.
And advances to 3B on a groundout.

Lopez holds the runner on 3B and we go to the
bottom of the 11th down by a run.

HOWEVER IT ENDS, I FEEL THAT THIS JUICED BALL ERA

IS MAKING A MOCKERY OF MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL.

SINGLES HITTERS SMACKING HOME RUNS.

IT IS AS PHONY AS THE STEROIDS ERA.

Escobar pops up after a 3-0 count became 3-2.

Two outs with the tying run on 1B.

Walker coming up.

Walker ends it with a groundout.

It's the 4th time this season that the Giants closer Will Smith
had a blown save and a win in the same game.

This team is so frustrating , no more wildcard talk please .
I understand the benefit of extending the Wild Card in the league. More cities can keep their hopes up.

But I agree with you. The way Steve is constantly making it sound like we are in the mix with so many
teams ahead of us (and with our whole pitching staff falling apart), it is ludicrous to pretend that we
are a legitimate Wild Card contender.

But Fox Sports is paying him to promote. The real fans know better and the casual fans might fall for it,
but they're not the ones who attend and watch the games.

I've considered Steve to be a better-than-average play-by-play announcer (and he has a great rapport
with Bob Brenly -- the best color commentator in the business), but he picks a few pet issues and runs
them into the ground.

Enough to make us roll our eyes and say, "Really, Steve?"

Trust me; I bet Steve is tired of talking about the WC; he's not dumb, he realizes this is not a WC team but yeah it's coming from the top down. They may be able to sell that to unintelligent fans, but anyone who knows baseball and this team knows this is a team that is a few years away from being a legit WC team.
