Hey @BC867 - look where the C is...
In response, these one day tries, then again 4 or 5 days later -- attempt and abandon, attempt and abandon --
prove nothing. Commit to trying it. Give it a chance. As he has been doing with Rojas in LF. It is inconsisten!

And is there any justification, now that we've been officially eliminated from the Wild Card race, for not starting
Cron these last five games of the season? Why is Lovullo so afraid of giving AAA's top slugger a chance for the
good of the team? Instead Lamb is starting today with a batting average of .194. Is that necessary?

At least there are only five more games this season for me to be frustrated by it. Hopefully, I can look forward
to the D-backs brass deciding that Torey Lovullo is a lifer Bench Coach with a very short attention span.

And my blood pressure can go back down to normal! :)

The D-backs got their only hit so far in the 7th.

You think you're bored? Three Diamondbacks
lolly-gagged it on a ground ball, the batter
reached 3B and the Cards have an insurance
run there with 2 outs. But he is stranded.

It is still a 1-0 game going to the bottom of
the 8th. And with the no-no gone, the Cards
make a pitching change.

You could miss a no-no. Against the good guys but still a big deal

I don't really care if the opposing team has great stats. I am there to watch the home team.

I can't sit and watch a game where Jake Lamb hits 4th. It hurts my head in it's stupidity.

How this manager is lauded locally I have no idea.

We aren't even tuning in at home so no idea what happened after the 5th. I will be lucky to give away the tickets this weekend to co workers.

Jones hitting for Lamb with a lefty pitching.

A no-brainer, even for Torey.

Archie in to pitch.

And he strikes out the side in order.

And on to the top of the 11th.

Andriese gives up a 1-out walk.

And a single that goes under Andriese's glove.
Runners on 1st & 3rd. Infield somewhere between
drawn in and double-play position.

Three changeups for a strikeout. A steal of 2B.

3rd strikeout and runners left on 2B & 3B.

Another night of . . . doesn't anyone want to
win this game?

Dyson tries for a bunt but is out.

Locastro hitting for the pitcher.
C'mon, get hit by the pitch. :)
He gets a single. Walker is up.
Walker looks at a called 3rd strike.

Vargas, who tied the game with a
pinch-hit HR in the 9th, is up.

High chopper dropped by the
pitcher, who tried to barehand it
but Locastro is out at 3B. His
"oven mitt" came off the base.
We go to the 12th.

Even with the expanded roster,
the D-backs have one position
player left, Caleb Joseph, the
Minor League call-up catcher.

Bottom of the 12th coming up.
5 minutes away from a 4-hour
game, so far.

Escobar called out on a strikeout
on a very inside pitch.

Jones with a pop-up.

Rojas hits a single.

Carson Kelly up and is also called
out on strikes on a very inside pitch.

On to the 13th.

Is this really necessary? ;)

Outside strikes on the Cardinals, too.

Does the home plate umpire not want
this game to end?

Goldy with a home run! With his years
as a D-back, does that count as a
walk-off?

I guess not. Unless the D-backs don't
do the same in the bottom of the 13th.

Pitching change for the D-backs with 2 outs

And a strike is called a ball.

I hope the robo-ump being tested in the
Arizona Fall League works out.

Ahmed with a leadoff triple.
Or it may be a double with
the LF juggling it.

He's the tying run. And a
walk to Dyson.

Caleb Joseph pinch-hitting.

Pitching change.

Caleb Joseph with a base
hit to tie the game.

Walker up with runners on
1B & 2B and no outs.

Walker hits into a DP.

Winning run on 3B with
2 outs.

Vargas, who tied it in the
9th, grounds out.

And Goldy did not drive in
the winning run.

On to the 14th with Chafin
in to pitch. He's the 10th
D-backs pitcher tonight.
