I don't think that the starting lineups have been posted yet. I for one, think that the Suns should not leak ANY lineups whatsoever.

That said, I am guessing that the lineup will be:

PG: Nash
SG: Bell
SF: Jones
PF: Marion
C: KT

The only other lineup I could see is:

PG: Nash
SG: Barbosa
SF: Bell
PG: Marion
C: KT

*Gasp* - Pat Burke will be the 1st (and only?) Suns' big off of the bench. If Marion/KT get into foul trouble, this game is over.

Will Banks or Rose get any extended minutes? D'Antoni has said all year that Rose's experience will come in handy during the playoffs, and I don't see any better time to dust him off than now.

With the way that Barbosa has been struggling, I would like to see lineup #1.

Thoughts?? Comments??

I think Barbosa will start - they need his offense tonight. They are entirely capable of winning this game, but they have to play with the same energy and desperation that they showed in the last few minutes of Game 4.

I think Barbosa comes off the bench. He is better as a sparkplug. I also think the calls will be going our way tonight. I don't think the NBA wants a riot breaking out at USAC. If I'm right, we should be OK. Foul trouble will end this game very early.

James Jones playing the 4 fronting Duncan. It's going to happen a few times tonight.

We also have Jumaine Jones, who would not be the worst type of player to put into this series.

That is true. I am really interested to see which one of our "scrubs" get PT, and how much. Jumaine Jones is intriguing.

if barbosa starts, then who comes off the bench?

it'll be

kt
marion
james jones
bell
nash

subs:
barbosa
burke
banks

the suns have to go small tonight. they can't simply put burke in for amare, and expect burke to run & dunk his way to 15-20 points.

so whenever timmy is in, kt will be in. and the other four will have marion plus 3 other guards out there.

just my 2 cents.

I'm sure Jumaine Jones will play. The guy is gritty and can shoot the rock. Wouldn't be surprise he goes off tonight. These reserves, Rose, Jumaine and Burke are chompin at the bit to get some playing time.

Jumaine Jones has played a grand total of 10 minutes since the All-Star break. He isn't in the picture. Banks and Burke will get time, and possibly Rose.

Jumaine Jones (and probably Sean Marks) weren't on the playoff roster and will NOT be playing.

I hope Jalen Rose gets used in the Boris Diaw role, that of secondary distributor. I'd like to see him come in w/ 2 mins left to go in the first quarter when Nash sits down. See if he can manage the offense to some degree.

All year he's had a chance to get out of dodge if he wanted to, but he said he wanted to help this team in the playoffs, so here is his chance.

You guys think the Suns are going to play a collapsing zone on the Spurs at times tonight? If the Spurs miss outside shots that could help the Suns running game.

mike d w/ surprises? i dont think so.

He did start James Jones 5 or 6 games before the end of the playoffs. I thought that was surprising. Actually starting KT in Game 2 was surprising too.

The Spurs couldn't care less who is going to start for the Suns. The Suns have a six-player rotation, or seven if Banks can contribute anything. There are no surprises.

Jr. will start for Amare.

Burke will have to play since we don't have any other big men.

I would guess Ross should get some time at forward but knowing DA, he may just go with seven guys.

i can see a double team here and there, just to mix it up. keep the spurs guessing.

they need to go small and run tonight. the spurs kind of ran out of gas on monday night. so we should see some fresh legs in burke and banks.

I don't know how anybody can argue against doubling Duncan? I mean, how did we win game 4 in that last 4 minutes? One major reason: Doubling Duncan. It totally took him out of his comfort zone and we were able to come back.

To me, seeing as how we dominated the Spurs for that short period of time and won that game, you gotta go with what worked for you.

Not the whole game though. Duncan will pick apart the Suns double team over time.

One-on-one coverage will put KT in foul trouble quick. We don't have the luxury of having Amare and/or Boris to guard Duncan when KT has a lot of fouls. I'd rather a more replaceable guy like James Jones get the fouls before KT. And he can take those on the double-team.

how old is finley? how old is duncan? how old is manu?

their main guys are definitely up there in age. and this they're going to be playing the 3rd high paced game in just 5 days. who runs out of gas now?

lets just hope that if they do go small and run, that parker doesn't explode and get those easy full court layups.

I also heard this interview. Unbelievable that Jerky and Urban asked zero tough questions. I don't expect them to disrespect Jackson, but they could at least show a remote sign of balls.
