Calhoun with another HR, leading off the 2nd. If only one of
our first three hitters had gotten on base in the 1st inning.

A Rojas sac fly in the 3rd makes it 2-0.

Two consecutive double play attempts turned into
force outs (not hit hard enough) get the Astros a
run. 2-1 D-backs after 3 innings.

A clearly spent Weaver falls apart in the 6th, and Torey does nothing.

Once again, Torey setting his players up to fail...

Weaver gives up the tying run, then the lead run, in the 6th.

'Looks like he was left in one batter too long. It was easy to
see it coming.

Yoan López comes in and gets the double play.

And a new pitcher for the Astros in the 7th.

Actually at least three batters too long. Should have been yanked right after the double was scorched. He clearly had nothing left in the tank.

The Astros reliever is wild, but gets out of the inning with a line drive
double play. The seldom used Pavin Smith was caught off the bag.

At least they're competitive again, though Torey's moves continue not to make any sense...

They do if he has conditions which override logic.

Such as Attention Deficit Disorder, where he cannot "connect the dots"
and everyday is a new beginning.

Or if he is afraid of hurting players' feelings, where anyone is a starter
or a leadoff hitter or a cleanup hitter or a #8 hitter from one game to
the next. Or a 2B or a CF. Or a CF or C.

Or that he is naturally shy and not authoritative. The couple of times
he's been ejected from games, he looked so uncomfortable doing it.

Any one of those would explain his chaotic batting order and position
changes. Not everyone is cut out to be the figurehead of a team. Or
the one who hs to make tough decisions. His post-game interviews
have been very weak. "Y'know, y'know, y'know." Non-inspiring.

This is a recap of individual things I've posted. I believe the Torey
has multiple syndromes which have contributing to our losing streaks
and turnover in player personnel.

If competitive means losing 6 out of 10 instead of 8 out of 10, that
is hardly competitive. And now since the fire sale, we are in a
rebuilding mode, but Torey is not the person to lead it.

Some management people are successful innovators. Some are
successful maintainers. And some are neither and qualified to
serve only as go-fers for those who are. 'Nothing to be ashamed
about. Not everyone is a leader.

I’d like to see a few more XBH from Pavin down the stretch. He seems like a smarter hitter than Varsho thus far.
