Lamb's casual persona hurts the D-backs.

We'd be better off without him.

Did I mention that Cron and his power bat
plays 3B as well as 1B? But, noooooo! :)
Lamb freaking sucks. He had 1 good year. Not a fan of him, he could go kick rocks for another team for all I care

And they're left loaded. Whew!

Today is going to be a test for our
mediocre middle inning bullpen.

Inning is finally over. Hopefully Kelly can reset and come back strong.

2-1 D-backs, following Ahmed's single. And he takes 2B on the throw.

Runners on 2B & 3B with no one out.

Kelly walks to load the bases.

Action in the Card's bullpen.

And a forceout at home plate.

Dysart strikes out. 2 outs for Marte, who flies out to leave them loaded.

Kelly threw 30 pitches in the 1st inning,
pitching to eight batters.

And for the second time in a row, the Cardinals leadoff hitter Carpenter
strikes out with all four infielders on the right side.

Muy estupido! The leadoff hitter whose job is to get on base.

And, now, for the third time in a row, the Cardinals leadoff hitter Carpenter
strikes out with all four infielders on the right side.

All he needed were swinging bunts to the left side and he'd have three less
strikeouts and three base hits.

Millionaires! No pride! Can't figure them out.

Escobar gets a 2-out HR in the top of the 5th off the rookie Dakota Hudson
and it's now a 4-2 game in favor of the Cardinals. Just the 3rd D-back hit.

I like Dyson leading off, but he is in a slump and needs to sit during
a few games despite Torey's lineups set a week in advance.

Locastro is a leadoff hitter. Give him a few starts

And the D-backs lose 4-2.

Sunday's rubber game at 11:00 AM
with a day off Monday.

Tuesday & Wednesday a 2-game
series vs. the Texas Rangers.

Is that echos I hear?

Hello hello hello hello. :)

Not the way of baseball anymore. Leadoff hitters are trying to to yard like everyone else. We are too old school

I guess so. But, even for selfish reasons, you'd think a player would rather have three hits than three strikeouts
when the opportunity is handed to him. Evidently teams' management is involved in the decision.

Of course, Major League baseball is not helping by evidently juicing the balls, then blatantly denying it. The stats
do not support the denial. Even our TV Fox Sports announcers mention it continuously.

Juicing the balls is irrelevant to me on some levels.

It used to be that players wouldn'tnt accept strikeouts, now nobody seems to give it a second thought.

The statcast revolution has changed the way players approach their ABs.

The game has fundamentally changed from what we grew up with.

I'm curious if I had said . . . you'd think that a player would rather have three hits than make three outs
(with no defender on the left side of second base) would that make a difference in your response?

Do you think it goes that far? Is the game that much removed from the manager playing to win?

No I think managers still play to win but they do so accepting the limitations of the hitters that have lead us to all this shifting. I think it is beyond ridiculous that carpenter has half the infield completely open...ON PURPOSE...and he seems I'll equipped to take advantage of it. Or he simply doesn't care to take advantage of it when he can try and hit a HR instead.
